Report: Brandon Jennings punched by rapper The Game at L.A. club

Sep 24, 2013, 3:26 PM EDT

Brandon Jennings, Joe Dumars

This post must start with a disclaimer: Take all of this with plenty of salt. Reports of what celebrities did in a club late at night are as reliable as milk a week past the use by date.

But if you choose to believe the reports, apparently rapper The Game got fed up with Brandon Jennings at a Los Angeles area club and landed a punch.

That is according to the site Hip Hollywood, via The Big Lead:

Jennings was at (LA club) Lure hosting his birthday party with friends, which didn’t sit well with the Compton rapper who frequents the club. “Game feels like Toxic is his, and he didn’t like that Jennings was hogging the microphone. He felt like he was being disrespected,” one person who witnessed the altercation tells us. “Game tried to have words with him, and it just escalated quickly and Game hit Brandon in the mouth,” another source says.

According to the report security broke up what there was of a fight, but the two entourages of the celebrities would not let it go and eventually security closed the whole thing down.

By the way, I’m taking The Game over Jennings in a fight. Not sure it’s close.

New Piston Jennings could have used that huge front line of Josh Smith, Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe to back him up. We will see if by the end of the season those three would stand in line to punch Jennings after another ill-advised stepback three.

Don’t hate the player, hate the Game.

  3. eugenesaxe1 - Sep 24, 2013 at 3:53 PM

Like you could expect anything else from someone who calls himself The Game.

Josh Smith = The Game. Twins separated at birth.

will jennings pass him the ball now

    • Gary - Sep 27, 2013 at 11:30 AM

Haha, I call Smith the game so much that I forget his real name sometimes.

Didn’t BJ just get punched at a summer league game recently?

  6. shuttaman1990 - Sep 24, 2013 at 4:29 PM

Jennings should have pushed to become a Laker, thats what he gets HA HA!
The Game bullying people on their birthdays wow thats a mean bully!

  7. azarkhan - Sep 24, 2013 at 4:34 PM

The Game sounds like The A-hole.

  8. 00maltliquor - Sep 24, 2013 at 4:50 PM

This doesn’t look too good on Game’s part, hitting dudes enjoying their birthdays and whatnot.

Game has been doing a lot of good lately with his Robin Hood Project, giving away 1 million of his own money to people in need. He just gave away something like $20,000 to a woman who lost her boyfriend and 4 kids in a house fire to help cover the funeral expenses. I got a lot of respect for him. Look into it if you don’t believe me with what he’s doing.

yeh, and the Mafia took care of the poor in the neighborhood, too…

      • 00maltliquor - Sep 25, 2013 at 7:42 PM

        There’s always a hater…

  9. chiadam - Sep 24, 2013 at 5:12 PM

The Game should take on Sweet Pea.

If B.J. played in the NFL, Florio and a dozen other pundits would wag a finger at him for even putting himself in that situation. “What was he even doing celebrating his birthday?” One would say.

    • detectivejimmymcnulty - Sep 24, 2013 at 6:57 PM

Florio loves drama. Look at his Bucs post and his vendetta against Suh.

      • tigers182 - Sep 24, 2013 at 7:17 PM

Suh took issue to an article that was written about him a few years ago and since then, Florio and Michael David Smith follow him around, looking for things negative about him to report on. Typical media people who can dish it out but can’t take it.

      • detectivejimmymcnulty - Sep 24, 2013 at 7:58 PM

I had no idea. That explains a lot. Also explains why nothing I post on Florio’s articles show up.

I would sue the game’s a@@ and have him arrested for assault. I don’t care where he from or who he think he is. He need to grow up!

That’s the best post I’ve ever seen on here.

Birthdays + Clubs + Rappers + Strippers = Bad News

I think dairy got insulted in being used as a comparison for these jerks. By the way, milk is required to remain fresh for a week after the sell-by date. That date on the jug is a sell-by date, not a use-by date.

  15. asublimeday - Sep 25, 2013 at 2:37 AM

The biggest hit The Game has had in a decade

Hate to break it to you, guy who CLEARLY isn’t a Detroit homer…

You don’t have to follow Suh around for stories. He’s human garbage.

  17. whitdog23 - Sep 25, 2013 at 9:50 AM

    who? and who?

  18. bougin89 - Sep 25, 2013 at 9:53 AM

I’m surprised Jennings didn’t duck the punch. Kind of like when he ducks away from contact in the lane and throws up that floater.

  19. hecklrkosh - Sep 25, 2013 at 11:09 AM

The game is a punk ass. He wouldn’t try that with a well-known rapper/athelete/etc…Jennings is a young kid with no backing.

  20. dannystancato - Sep 25, 2013 at 4:42 PM

This is why I have the internet. for stories like this :)

  21. Gary - Sep 27, 2013 at 11:31 AM

    Game over for Jennings.
