Khalif Wyatt, an undrafted rookie out of Temple University, has agreed to a partially-guaranteed deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.

From Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer (via CSN Philly):

He will sign a partially guaranteed, mutli-year contract on Friday. The guard will be on the team’s roster when it opens the season against the Miami Heat on Oct. 30.  But there’s a chance Wyatt could spend a portion of this season with the Delaware 87ers, the Sixers NBA Development League affiliate.

The 6-foot-4, slimmed-down 205-pounder was a standout one the Sixers’ Orlando Pro Summer League team.

He averaged a team-best 13.8 points per game, or an analytic-friendly one point per 1.4 minutes in the summer league. Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo, the second overall pick, averaged one point per 1.7 minutes.

Philadelphia, perhaps more than any other team, is a place where young talent will be given the opportunity to develop. The Sixers aren’t particularly interested in winning this season; they waited until deep into the offseason before bothering to name a head coach, and are considerably below the league’s minimum salary threshold.

Wyatt finished his senior year of college averaging 20.5 points per game, and was named the A-10 and Big 5 Player of the Year.
