Roy Hibbert says he is good with Paul George as Pacers leader

Paul George has made it clear — he wants to step up into a leadership role in the Pacers locker room. He was thrust into that role last season when Danny Granger was out and Roy Hibbert was struggling. Now he wants to take that on formally.

So how does Roy Hibbert — a young All-Star in his own right — feel about that?

Just fine.

See, there you have it. No problems. Twitter once again answers our every question.

Truth be told there’s will not likely be any issues, although mostly because David West is the calming influence on this locker room. He’s the veteran presence that keeps everything running smoothly. The Pacers paid to keep West around this summer because he’s both solid on the court and off it.

The Pacers will finish with one of the better records in the East, likely top three (maybe four), but they are really a team built for the playoffs. If George and Granger can meld their games and Hibbert takes any kind of step forward to being one of the best centers in the league, they will be a very tough out in the postseason. Very tough.

Best case scenario for the Pacers is that Danny Granger comes in and produces to the point where a team like the Mavs or Hawks or willing to give up moderate young talent/picks for him

Question is how Danny Granger feels about all this?

Hibbert’s come a looong way from when he first showed up at Georgetown. A true project player that’s improved greatly.

Hibbert struggled early in the season because of a wrist injury but played thru it and the criticism he got without using it as an excuse. he played better down the stretch because he felt better. they guy already is one of the best centers in the league and will only continue to improve with his attitude and work ethic.

I’m not a Pacers fan but I do like the chemistry of this team

If Granger can give them anything at all, with the rate that George and Hibbert have improved (and if they continue to), this team is a legitimate threat to the Heat in the EC.

I think this a team people will get behind and pull for as they are the anti-Heat. I really do like their chances of knocking the”king” off his throne this year.
