The career retrospectives keep pouring in about Tracy McGrady, who said on Monday he is retiring from the NBA (but don’t be shocked if he plays another season in China).

McGrady was one of the smoothest scorers we have seen in a long time in the NBA — there are guys like Kobe Bryant and LeBron James who will put up big numbers but they don’t look as smooth as McGrady doing it. He made the game just look easy.

And he could do the spectacular, as this Top 10 plays put together by the NBA showed.

The 13 points in 35 seconds against the Spurs will most likely go down as the greatest stretch of scoring in history. It topped Reggie’s last second heroics against the Knicks because he literally brought the ball up the court every time and everyone knew who was shooting. Just an unbelievable player……wish he would have finally got his ring last year…..

Agree with you that it was a greater feat by T-Mac, but Reggie’s performance will be more memorable, because it was in a bigger game (playoffs), at a famous venue (MSG).

Wow. Those were crazy. I forgot about all of the times he used to toss it off the glass to himself and then throw it down. Good stuff. And who can forget about the Orlando/Detroit series in the playoffs when he single-handedly carried a crappy Orlando team? It’s tough to see guys like T-Mac get old.

McGrady sure had a flair for the spectacular, you have to give him that.

Great career, coming from under Vince Carter shadow to be his own man. Is he a Hall of Famer?
