Roy Hibbert doesn’t really fit in airplane bathrooms

Aug 22, 2013, 12:57 PM EDT

Roy Hibbert is a legit 7’2″ with a 7’9″ wingspan and while listed at 278 although that seems on the low side. That size (and his skill on defense) is why the Pacers’ center gives the Miami Heat so much trouble inside. And a lot of other teams.

It’s also why he doesn’t fit well in airplane bathrooms, which my normal-sized body finds cramped.

We don’t normally run bathroom photos on this site, but this one from Hibbert’s Instagram account is the exception.

I’m surprised he doesn’t hire a private jet, I assume the bathrooms are bigger.

Can we get that tool from ESPN to do SportsScience on this one?

“Roy Hibbert is big…” (shows graphic of Hibbert’s body)
“Airplane bathrooms are small…” (shows graphic of airplane bathrooms)
Camera pans to the host, “According to physics, you can’t fit big things into smaller things.” (Shows final graphic of Hibbert’s frame superimposed over bathroom)

“And that concludes this week’s episode of SPORTSSCIENCE!”

Roy Hibbert is nearly 44% less likely to fit into an airplane bathroom! With Sports Science, I’m John Brinkus!!!

I hate that guy. He did some examination of a touchdown catch a few years ago where a guy caught it with his hands. He called them “points of contact” and when he pulled it to his chest on the way down, he said that he created “3!! Count them! 3 points of contact!!!”
