NBA’s best moments from the 2013 season (VIDEO)

Aug 17, 2013, 11:00 AM EDT

The middle of August can be a pretty desolate place for hardcore basketball fans, and it’s easy to spend hours going down a YouTube rabbit hole watching highlight clips from the season that recently passed.

Thankfully, the NBA put a lot of last year’s best moments together in the video clip above.

While no compilation will satisfy everyone without being longer by many more minutes, here are a few highlights that probably should’ve made the cut:

- Kevin Durant‘s career-high 52 points and overtime game-winner against the Mavericks

- Kyrie Irving and his masked-man performance resulting in a career-high 41 points against the Knicks

- The Bulls putting an end to the Heat’s 27-game winning streak

There are, of course, many others.

Any moments from last season you think absolutely should’ve been included? Let’s hear your suggestions in the comments.

The Bulls beating the Heat to end their streak was a big win. There weren’t a lot of highlight-reel plays from that game that I recall – it was a gritty, defensive slugfest – but there should have been a clip of the Bulls celebrating.

Who cares! They have the ugliest front court in the NBA (Boozer and Noah).

WTH does the way any of the guys on any of the teams look have to do with anything?

        That’s not what I watch basketball for…

      • legend30 - Aug 17, 2013 at 3:14 PM

        You must look like Noah…

      • sportsfan18 - Aug 17, 2013 at 7:20 PM

No, but I don’t pretend to be GQ either.

I watch the game. Now I do pay attention to the Luvabullls when watching the Bulls. I sure as hell don’t look at players and rate them on how they look…

For you to say they’re the ugliest front court in the NBA, it means you’ve looked at and noticed all other front courts and they rated them the worst.

Frankly that’s never been on my mind while watching a basketball game…

sportsfan18, are you seriously getting upset? I don’t care what they look like. Everyone has to take everything so seriously…

Nah. I was at that game and the refs gave the Bulls that win by not calling at least 7 hard fouls on drives by LeBron to the hoop. I hate when the Bulls don’t get called for every foul they commit on the perimeter and inside because they are considered a “good” defensive team.

The Bobcats would be just as good if they could put their hands all over the offense without a whistle.

But in general, I thought the 2012-2013 season had a lot of compelling storylines, and the West was especially competitive, so it was a good season overall.

However, I’m REALLY excited for the 2013-2014 season. Think of the things to look forward too
    1. The return of several injured star players (Kobe, Rose, Westbrook, Rondo, K. Love, etc.)
    2. The West is still going to be crazy competitive, with the top SIX teams (Spurs, OKC, Memphis, Clippers, Rockets, and Warriors all looking like contenders)
    3. The East becoming more competitive, with the Pacers, Bulls, Nets, and Knicks all improved and gearing up to take on the Heat.
    4. There should be interesting races for the 7th and 8th seeds in both conferences, involving fun young teams like the Timberwolves, Trailblazers, Wizards, Cavaliers, etc.
    5. As for the non-playoff teams, the 2014 draft looks like it might be the best draft in a decade.
    6. As for teams with cap space, 2014 free agency could be full of transactions with a good class of free agents and teams potentially trading good players away in exchange for 2014 draft picks.

What about James Harden career high vs OKC?

How did Kobe’s dunk over Josh Smith— for his 30,000th pt— not make the cut though??

  5. legend30 - Aug 17, 2013 at 12:14 PM

JaVale McGee should also been in the video.

      As comic relief, right?

      • legend30 - Aug 17, 2013 at 4:25 PM

        Yeah. Shaq would agreed.

The ugliest front court in the league that put an end to Miami’s 27 game winning streak. Is that what you meant to say?
