Phoenix Suns officially unveil new uniforms

Aug 16, 2013, 12:21 AM EDT

The Suns officially unveiled their new uniforms for the upcoming season on Thursday by holding a fashion show in Scottsdale, Arizona to celebrate the occasion.

The organization had players from past teams modeling reminders of what the previous uniform incarnations looked like, before getting to the main event where the newest Suns gave us our fist look at the latest designs.

source: From left to right, that’s Alex Len, Archie Goodwin, Eric Bledsoe, Caron Butler, and P.J. Tucker in the home whites, orange alternates (yes, they have sleeves) and the road purples.

Check out a couple more photos below, and you can relive the entire unveiling on video over at Suns.com.

As long as they pepper in those nineties retros everyone once in a while, I’m cool with it.

Please stop trying to make the sleeves a “thing” NBA. Give it up. Just stop.

Yeah, I generally like most of the goofy uniform things, but those sleeves just look silly. Really like those road uniforms though. Like the little detail in the shorts.

I really hope the NBA isn’t moving toward sleeved and corporate logo’d jerseys.

Sleeves yes, corporate… once the shock of the sleeve has worn off.

I like the sleeves on trendy, new teams (Suns, Warriors, Blazers, T-Wolves, maybe Heat). I don’t like them on classic teams (Celtics, Lakers, Bulls) or the Spurs. Case by case basis in my mind.

Like the blue one. not a big fan of orange on orange

Wow. They would even look poor as practice jerseys.

Sleeves on a basketball player are like shorts on a baseball payer. I knew a guy that wore a t-shirt under his jersey. He also waited to take showers after everyone else was done. And peed in a stall with the door shut.

The sleeved jerseys looked much more impressive in the Golden State promo photo shoot. Harrison Barnes modeled them and they looked more form-fitting, almost like a soccer jersey. Then they played an actual game in them. The shirts were baggy and sloppy and they didn’t even match the shorts they were wearing- it was a mess.

If they can make them look cleaner, neater, fresher, then I’m all for the sleeved jerseys. But what Phoenix has going on right now looks like a shooting jersey.

I never realized seeing a sweaty athlete’s triceps was such a integral part of basketball.

Yeah it sounds like a few people here are getting their panties in a bundle over paying attention to more than just the basketball game. Gross.

Looks like they designed those using Microsoft Word.
