Monta Ellis said he was unhappy in Milwaukee. Hey Monta, we already knew.

When you’re the GM of a smaller market, you have to take some bigger risks. And when those gambles don’t work out, you can’t just buy your way out of the situation.

Which brings us to Milwaukee, which for the past few seasons had tried a Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings backcourt. Which went together about as well as toothpaste and orange juice.

It was pretty obvious both players were unhappy and now both have moved on — Ellis bolted for Dallas as a free agent, while Jennings was traded to Detroit this summer. Now at his introductory press conference in Dallas Ellis tells us that he was not happy… shocking, I know. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has the quote:

“When you’re in a place where you’re unhappy, it’s very hard to perform to your best ability,” said Ellis, declining to discuss his time with the Bucks in more detail by saying he “left it in Milwaukee.”

Now he gets to share the backcourt with Jose Calderon, which should be a better fit, but Dirk Nowitzki is there and healthy and the Mavericks are his team. He gets the most touches.

Ellis said he looks forward to being Dirk’s sidekick and scoring 25 points a game. I would be shocked — shocked I tell you — if that doesn’t go perfectly smoothly. It’s all going to be rainbows and puppy dogs

25 points on 10 for 26 shooting from the field.

. . . BUT not as unhappy as the Milwaukee fanbase was that you were on the team.

Dallas has quietly built themselves into a formidable 8th seed team. :/

As proven, Dirk is a championship level player. But I don’t think Ellis is the type of player that compliments him in that way.

Organization is willing to pay a guy millions of dollars but because he doesn’t like the city he doesn’t play as good as he should. That’s basically what he said. He has the attitude of a loser just like Jennings. These are not guys that start on championship teams and that’s why neither has come close to being part of one. Look in the mirror guys, you’re part of the problem.

It makes you question if he is depressed. He’s been pretty awful his entire career, save for the 07-08 season when apparently he was taking his Prozac.

I dont think he is. A depressed person wouldn’t send picture of he’s junk to a female employee. Touched in the head is more fitting term.

Haha, I beg to differ. When I’m not on my Prozac I tweet pictures of my junk.

Ellis is about as team oriented as T.O, but doesn’t have the talent
