adidas unveils latest signature shoe for Dwight Howard, the D Howard 4 (PHOTOS)

Aug 13, 2013, 2:16 PM EDT

With the drama of a season with the Lakers behind him, Dwight Howard is beginning his fresh start with the Houston Rockets.

He’ll be doing it with his latest signature shoe from adidas, the D Howard 4.

From the official release:

“The spiral wave design on the shoe’s upper is inspired by Dwight’s playing style and how he circles the paint protecting the rim by blocking shots and grabbing rebounds. The bright color palette of this Yellow-Gold-Blue colorway was selected to match Dwight’s personality while the tongue and three-stripes branding both feature a chrome treatment to stand out on the court.”

“You can catch Dwight wearing this Yellow-Gold-Blue colorway of the D Howard 4 as he tours Asia during Dwight Howard Tour taking place August 16-26 in Seoul, South Korea; Taipei, Taiwan; Hong Kong and Hangzhou, Chengdu and Beijing, China. The D Howard 4 is available on adidas.com November 1 in three colorways with two more dropping in December.”

The traction appears to be similar to the CrazyQuicks that John Wall debuted earlier this year, although with some noticeable tweaks in the heel and forefoot areas.

In case the colorway pictured is a little exotic for your tastes, Howard was seen wearing a more subtle black and gold model during his workout with Hakeem Olajuwon.

Check out the photos below, and let us know if you’ll be picking up a pair in the comments.

I think it represents all the colors of the teams he has bounced around to

What part of the design depicts his missed free throws, ball getting swiped out his hands by 6ft guards, lack of low post moves, pouting over a lack of shots and backstabbing his coach? Just asking……

      Spoken like a true Lakers fan….or a bitter ex-girlfriend.
They sound so much alike lately.

Weird, because all you see on these articles are anti-Laker trolls. Who are the real bitter one’s? Considering how many people didn’t like Dwight. Since, Orlando. Doesn’t make sense that people would just flip sides, like a troll. Looking at Dwight not having a good rep for awhile already. Just adds to the discontent, by people who watch the NBA.

Notice, you’re the only one who brought the Lakers into this whole article. Clown!

Brilliant color combination… Just right for a clown like him, he can wear it in childrens’ parties.

… and the three vertical stripes signifies the three ligaments you will be tearing in your knee.

    Seriously. Buy Nike.

    • moss45 - Aug 14, 2013 at 2:22 PM

Yup… So your ligaments will be swooshed into injuries… LOL

Remember Adidas first basketball shoe in the USA: the “Superstar”? That was well before Nike existed (mid 1960′s). Adidas only competitor was Puma, and those didn’t fit my EEE wide feet. Nowadays, I have an older pair of light as a feather Jordans, and one day I might even be able to touch the rim!

All show no go. Classic DH12.

  14. MyTeamsAllStink - Aug 15, 2013 at 10:53 AM

Uglier than the 1995 Air Jordans with that patent leather at the tip of the toe.
