Reminder: Andre Drummond dominated Orlando Summer League (VIDEO)

Aug 9, 2013, 9:54 AM EDT

The Detroit Pistons are going to be interesting next season, and not just because they added Josh Smith and Brandon Jennings.

They have Andre Drummond, who if he had been healthy all season would have been in the Rookie of the Year conversation (he wouldn’t have beaten out Damian Lillard, but it would have been a discussion at least). Drummond is also the guy out of last year’s rookie class who could make the biggest leap next season.

As a reminder, here is Drummond being a man among boys at the Orlando Summer League.

I’ve got some serious questions about floor spacing, but the Detroit Pistons are going to be better and interesting this season. Mo Cheeks has his work cut out for him.

Jennings will have a lot of “Kobe Assist” next season playing “Dr Drain”.

can he even legally drink yet? sky’s the limit … and maybe the free throw line too.

A little neevous about Jennings forcing his shot amd throwing up bricks, but I think we have enough big men to compensate. I know everyone is referring to this years roster as “interesting.” Hopefully interesting wins games. First year I’ve been excited to watch Pistons in years.

This kid is gonna be a big time star…if he keeps working. So far, it appears the draft “experts” were not correct in their assessments of him.

Can’t wait to see more of Monroe and Drummond together. Both their averages went up when they played together

Drummond – 11.5 pts/8 rebs starting with Monroe
    Monroe – 18 pts/10 rebs/3.5 asts starting with Drummond

Could be the twin towers of this generation

You’re seriously underrating drummond with those stats. He could get those in 20-23 mpg this year. But he’ll get more like 28. The 8 rebounds is wayyy off. He already averaged 8 rebounds in under 20 mpg.

I lost money betting on Drummond for rookie of the year but it was still a good bet with those odds. Somehow now I feel connected to him like I’m gonna be rooting for this guy for years.
