Kemba Walker is going to get the starters minutes at the point in Charlotte, when he sits veteran Ramon Sessions will be on the court.

But the Bobcats wanted a third point guard on the roster, so they have reached a one-year, $1.4 million deal with Jannero Pargo, reports Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com. That is a league minimum deal.

Pargo is an NBA journeyman, but he had one of the best stretches of his career in the 18 games he was with the Bobcats last season (he also spent time with the Wizards and Hawks). He averaged 8.4 points and 1.9 assists per game with Charlotte last season. Pargo also had conversations with the Knicks and other teams, but will return to Charlotte.

Pargo will work out fine for a third-string, minimum deal guy.

Just when you thought the Beno Udrih signing was going to be the biggest free agent splash of the day…. BOOM! Jannero makes an appearance! Basketball in August doesn’t get much better than this ladies and gentleman

My overall impression after watching him last year with the Wizards was that he wasn’t as good as the other team’s back-up PG. I was glad when the replaced him.

Every team should have 3 PGs on the roster at all times. That’s the one position you need to make sure of. All it takes is for one injury/suspension/foul out/player issue and all you got is one guy left for 48 min. in a position you need to quarterback.

Jannero Pargo sounds like a brand of cheap laminate flooring.

Or an Eternal Darkness spell… but that’s probably too random of a reference.

Sounds like off brand spaghetti sauce.
