Report: Bulls, Rockets now front-runners for Camby (Heat not so much)

Marcus Camby is an unrestricted free agent, thank you very much Raptors.

And big men who can protect the rim have real value around the league, so it is no shock the guy traded to then set free by Toronto has other suitors.

Nothing has come together yet, but the Bulls and Rockets are the frontrunners reports Chris Tomasson of Fox Sports Florida.

The Heat are one of the frontrunners for Greg Oden, they don’t need him and Camby and that could be part of the situation.

Camby has taken and passed his physical with the Rockets, according to reports.

Camby is at the end of his career, he didn’t want to be in Toronto as part of a rebuilding project, he wanted to be in a place he could win. The Bulls and Rockets are potentially contenders (we’ve got questions), but the Heat seem out of the mix so it will be one of those two. Apparently.

Agreed. Dude just doesn’t want a ring. Fine by me. Plus I’d rather roll the dice with Oden anyways.

What evidence do you have that Oden is a ‘roll of the dice’? He can’t play. He won’t play. He’s a sure thing.

Well…the Heat and Spurs are both talking to Greg Oden.

The Heat and Spurs are both pretty good teams.
You might remember seeing them in the NBA Finals somewhat recently…

So if you really believe it’s “a sure thing” that Oden “can’t play and won’t play,” then you must know more about basketball talent evaluation than Pat Riley and Gregg Popovich.
Those guys seem to think there’s a chance Oden plays this year.

They can have him but whoever gets better have depth at that position. Camby is not going to stay healthy.

He’s going to Houston. He said he wants to retire there countless times.

The Knicks Had High Hopes For Him Also & Look What He Did For Them, Nothing.
I Wouldn’t Waste The Money On Him To Be A Cheerleader.

Camby would be good pick up for Chicago.
I dont believe San Antonio is actually considering a long term contract with Oden, but their “apparent” interest is to at least raise the stock on him and make Miami overpay if they actually decide to sign Oden. That would also put Miami even further into the luxury tax and begin to handicap the Heat’s future.
    Love Jimi.
