Warriors’ Bazemore with big Summer League dunk (VIDEO)

Jul 19, 2013, 8:44 AM EDT

When you start talking about Summer League MVP candidates, Golden State sophomore Kent Bazemore‘s name needs to come up (along the Portland’s C.J. McCollum, Toronto’s Jonas Valanciunas, and Chicago’s Andrew Goudelock).

Bazemore is averaging 18 points a game for the undefeated Warriors, and he put up 25 on Thursday against Dallas. The Old Dominion guard knows how to score in bunches. And dunk, if nobody bothers to get between him and the basket, which happened Thursday and led to one of the better power dunks of Summer League.

Too bad he won’t get any time on the court with Iggy, Barnes, Thompson, and Green ahead of him. I personally think he is a great defender with great footwork and can light it up on any given night. He will be a good player for a long time in the league.

I don’t think C.J will get it mainly because of the inefficient shooting he’s been putting up the last 2 games. It’s still close for who will get the MVP though.

The best part of this game was when the Warriors started making the run in the final 4 minutes of the game. The Golden State fans practically erupted in the building chanting “Lets Go Warriors!”. Talk about your loyal fan bases. It sounded as if the all of the Thomas & Mack center were filled with Warriors fans.

That’s what im talking bout! G.S. STAND UP!

As a Warriors fan and bay area native, I can honestly say that NOTHING EVEN COMES CLOSE to a Warriors playoff game…nothing!

He’s sitting behind some pretty awesome players, Curry, Iggy, and Thompson. That’s just going to further his development and when the time comes, nothing is going to be too big for him. Practicing, learning and playing against those guys on a daily basis is just going to make him even better.

I have no doubt when Bazemore’s time comes, he’ll be more than ready to show the world “He Belongs!”

    Go Warriors!
