Paul Pierce says thanks to Boston with Instagram photos. Well done sir.

Jul 16, 2013, 4:58 PM EDT

As you certainly know by now, Paul Pierce is gone from Boston, where he was the most iconic Celtic since the Larry Bird era. All good things must come to an end and Pierce (as well as Kevin Garnett) will likely end their careers with the Brooklyn Nets.

Tuesday Paul Pierce said a thank you to Boston via Instagram that was just flat out awesome, using the hashtag #thankyouboston. Below is just a sampling. Enjoy.

Wowwww…I’ve never seen that many thumbs down on PBT in my 2.5 or so years I’ve been frequenting this site. Congratulations? That really is an accomplishment. Those are daily #s for PFT, but for PBT, you must’ve really irked some people!

I wonder what “World Metta Peace” will do for L.A.??? Afterall, he did auction off his Championship Ring during the good times.

    • rich6812 - Jul 16, 2013 at 6:20 PM

Different situation. “Metta World Peace” didn’t spend his entire career in L.A. before he was amnestied. Nor is he an iconic part of Lakers history.

And nothing but The Truth! I can’t wait for the game when Pierce and KG come to the Garden as opponents; win or lose, it’s gonna be an epic night.

Class act. All around. Will be missed.

Not a Paul Pierce fan or a Boston fan for that matter but this was a very classy parting of ways by both parties. Other teams and GM’s should be taking notice of how to do it.
