Andray Blatche doesn’t care about toll roads

Andray Blatche just completed the best per-minute season of his career. He was so good when the Nets put him on the court, he was arguably better in sum than any of the four seasons in which he played more minutes for the Wizards.

Blatche shot fewer long 2s, hit the glass harder and protected the ball better than his career norms. In other words, he matured as a player.

Some tried to connect that to him maturing off the court, but as we’ve seen way too many times, those two are not one in the same.

Blatche posted to Instagram a photo of six envelopes from the E-ZPass Violation Processing Center with the caption, “Lol I get these n my mail every day lol.” Presumably, they’re fines for running New York-area tolls without an E-ZPass.

Just another lesson that extrapolating a player’s on-court tendencies to his off-court persona doesn’t necessarily work.

Not a big deal as long as he has EZPass and enters his tracker on their site for each violation.

I purposely go through them with my pass showing and they only catch about half of my violations. No additional cost to fixing it after the fact, just savings.

Uh, no. Sorry, but a toll is a toll, and a roll is a roll, and if we don’t get no tolls, then we don’t eat no rolls.

    So pay up.

    Dude, buy an EZ-Pass!

Typical arrogant athlete. Actually more like ignorant black athlete. There are plenty of ignorant white athletes too like Cade McNown comes to mind but the black athlete has more of these issues. This reminds me of the players that drive without a license. What do they care attitude?

    • cmehustle - Jul 12, 2013 at 7:23 PM

Lol yea he’s kinda ignorant. And he’s also black. Let me tell you this. There are more black athletes in basketball than white ones. It could be that simply when you have more in the pot, there is a higher chance for ignorance. I could make the case that there are more not only ignorant, but intelligent, frugal, and pretty much every adjective there is. But you want to focus on ignorant. By the way that makes you sound not only ignorant, but envious.

I could agree with you; there’s even a couple studies that indicate an 8-point average IQ differential between white and black people; but it simply doesn’t matter here because we’ve got specific information about a solitary man. Please reserve your judgment for individuals, not groups. Besides, a group of people doesn’t technically ever exist.

^^^ this guy made an athlete not paying a toll into a white and black race issue…..incredible

    • cullenand99 - Jul 12, 2013 at 6:28 PM

Racists tend to find a way to turn everything into a race issue.

I’m with you Andray screw the toll like they don’t have enough money they need $2.00 from every driver that’s on there. screw that they cab eat my nuts. The Illinois toll sends me the same bs. Like I’m gonna give them $2000 for $100 in missed tolls its ignorant for them just to ask for that…and for you fools turning this to a black & white thing your just stupid and yes I’m a cracker myself

The infrastructure in this country is crumbling due to a lack of funds. Toll roads exist to give motorists an option. If you don’t want to pay tolls maybe you should stick to surface streets and leave an hour earlier. Your attitude might change when the state revokes your license and/or vehicle registration for those unpaid tolls.

What are chances Blatche is broke in 20 years.

    • biasedhomer - Jul 12, 2013 at 9:34 PM

How much is the fine? Multiply that by 365 days and divide his career NBA earnings by that number.

  9. edwardemanuelson - Jul 12, 2013 at 7:51 PM

Way to hold onto that NBA money, Andre.

What’s the percentage of athletes that are broke within 5 years of retirement? 80, 85?

  10. skinsnation703 - Jul 12, 2013 at 8:50 PM

Must be hard to get an E-Zpass, and pay it monthly like I do. Plus I don’t get paid like him.

“…an estimated 60% of NBA athletes”…lose their money.

    What an idiot

  13. Anoesis - Jul 13, 2013 at 12:18 AM

Don’t you just love it when idiots with money think it’s ok to jerk everyone else around? The guy’s a thief. He’s stealing from the toll-road owner (the state) which is basically everyone who resides in New York. He can afford to pay for something he already used, but chooses not to do that and then goes on social media to brag about being a scrote bag.

He’s too cheap to pay his bills and/or too lazy to go through a lane that accepts cash. There’s a speed limit in those E-ZPass lanes and he’s probably violating that, too. It would be nice if the state suspended his registration, but for some reason New York seems to be uncomfortable enforcing this law. The only real hope here is that the Nets see what a negative PR hit this might be and convince him to stop acting like an ass.

Is andray going to get along with KG? They always had choice words for each other during there series last year. But KG always has his mouth running so i think KG and Blatche will become the best of buds now haha The twin trash talkers. Andray can talk from the bench while KG talks from the court. Man teams are going to be annoyed
