Report: Brandon Jennings for Jeff Teague? It’s one scenario being discussed.

The most likely scenario out there has Monta Ellis landing in Atlanta next season; they are the clear and away frontrunners for his services. Ellis with the ball, Kyle Korver as the sharpshooter on the wing, Paul Millsap and Al Horford on the front line… that’s a solid playoff team in the East (albeit one with some defensive questions).

But there is an interesting scenario that would put Ellis out and Brandon Jennings in for the Hawks, one discussed by Marc Stein at ESPN.

Sources briefed on the situation told that the Hawks and Bucks have in recent days discussed a sign-and-trade deal to land Brandon Jennings in Atlanta and send fellow restricted free agent Jeff Teague to Milwaukee to reunite with former Hawks coach Larry Drew. reported early in free agency that the Bucks, at Drew’s behest, had interest.

Larry Drew also watched the mess that was the Ellis/Jennings backcourt in Milwaukee and would not want to replicate it in Atlanta. It should never be replicated anywhere ever again.

If the Hawks are out, apparently the Sacramento Kings could be in the Monta Ellis sweepstakes, Stein reports.

Sources say that the Kings, meanwhile, have been shopping the likes of Jimmer Fredette and Chuck Hayes to the Cavaliers to create the requisite salary-cap room to try to sign Ellis comfortably.

The big question out there is what size deal Ellis eventually lands — remember he reportedly turned down two years, $24 million, so he is going to want more years and a larger overall paycheck. Ellis is an inefficient shooter who doesn’t play much defense, but he will put up points because he will shoot plenty.

The smart money has him landing in Atlanta right now, but know that other situations are in play.

” Ellis is an inefficient shooter who doesn’t play much defense” should read ” Ellis is a chucker who plays no defense”

Whoever signs Ellis is in for a whole lot of headaches. Sad to say, but he makes his own team worse off when he steps onto the court.

Wait, they want to trade Jimmer? Jerry Sloan on line one…

They could move Milsap to the 3 and get a defensive center. Omer asik and Lin for Teague could work

      That’s a horrible scenario.

Would Jennings actually pass the ball to Korver?

Are the Bucks ever going to get a SF?

No, that would make too much sense. We are going to stockpile PF’s and backup centers though.

Hmm…last year was easily monta Ellis worst year by far. He’s a 45%shooter who can shoot better with a decent team. (He averaged 19 8 and 4 on 52% the year GSW missed playoffs with 48wins) let the guys handle the rock and do work!!

We had a SF with promise, Tobias Harris, only 21 yrs. old, but the Bucks gave him up for 25-some games from JJ Redick to get the 8th Seed – then went “4 and out”. Hammond is good at getting rid of bad guys, but not at bringing good guys in.
