Clippers agree to one-year deal with Ryan Hollins

The Clippers have had a very successful offseason.

They’ve signed Chris Paul to a max contract, re-signed Matt Barnes, traded for Jared Dudley and J.J. Redick to get help on the wing and some solid perimeter shooting, and replaced Eric Bledsoe with Darren Collison as a backup to Paul at a very reasonable price.

They can’t all be winners, however, as we learned from Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports, who informs us that L.A. has agreed to a one-year deal to retain Ryan Hollins.

The Clippers didn’t have much choice here considering their salary cap situation, and will likely try to similarly retain another low-cost big man option in Ronny Turiaf, as well.

But Hollins just isn’t very good at basketball, and some of the boneheaded things he chooses to do on the court make having him on the roster seem even worse.

Nevertheless, Hollins averaged 3.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in 11.1 minutes per game last season, mainly because you simply can’t play Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan all 48 minutes.

The Clippers are the sixth team Hollins has played for in seven NBA seasons.
