Bucks reach three-year deal with center Zaza Pachulia

The Bucks have a crowded frontcourt — Larry Sanders, John Henson, Ekpe Udoh and Ersan Ilyasova.

Now you can add the name Zaza Pachulia to the list.

The Bucks have reached a three-year deal worth a total of $15.6 million with Pachulia, reported Marc Stein on twitter and confirmed by the Journal Sentinel.

Pachulia, 29, gives them a solid traditional center to back up Sanders, plus he is a veteran presence in the locker room. He played with the Bucks before back in 2005.

But three years at $5 million per year seems a little steep for a guy who averaged 5.9 points and 6.5 rebounds off the bench in Atlanta last year, and only played 52 games due to an Achilles injury.

Pachulia is expected to be healthy and ready to go by training camp.

The Bucks big move this off-season was to bring in O.J. Mayo, basically filling in the Monta Ellis role. There has been no real determination yet of the future of Brandon Jennings.

As a Hawks fan, losing Zaza hurt. We absolutely love Zaza! He’s our fighter! I love the fact that he’s rough around the edges! We’re going to miss him.

To see him leave Atlanta just tells me that the Bucks are paying him a lot more money than what Atlanta thinks he’s worth.

The Bucks are paying Zaza more than anybody thinks he’s worth.

What are the Bucks doing? smh!

Unless their plan is to consistently contend for the 8th seed in the East they have no clear plan. It’s pretty tough to think we cannot find a better GM. Why they aren’t going the route of the Jazz or Celtics and tanking for next year’s lottery is beyond me. Instead we are tieing ourselves to a bunch of guys that will make us competitive in some games but probably won’t win a single playoff game again(assuming they make the 8th seed again).

Trade Ersan and Ekpe and whoever else necessary for Rudy Gay

All those names in bold and yet I wouldn’t recognize one of them in person. Bucks….what a wasteland.

Are you kidding me? Larry Sanders is one of the best young big men in the NBA lol

    Absolutely terrible contract

Now that the Bucks have OJ Mayo, maybe they can get Lil Romeo (aka Percy Miller) to sign a walk-on deal.

Bucks must think they can start a new fad of playing “Giant Ball” Someone has to clean up all the Brandon Jennings bricks.

I am interested to see how much Jennings’ ball handling is worth despite his off balance volume shooting at sub-40% (or bricks, as is stated above).

Nice pick. This Bucks team is upgraded. ZaZa will win at least 5-8 games for them this year from his toughness and grit. They’ll have a nice front court with Henson, Sanders, (don’t really like Udoh) & Zaza. If they stay healthy Bucks could be #5 seed or better.

Zaza is underrated. He is one of only a handful of people who can stop and intimidate Dwight.
