Kobe’s simple response to Dwight Howard joining the Rockets

Jul 5, 2013, 11:23 PM EDT

A picture is worth 1000 words, so for the moment, we’ll let this one that Kobe Bryant posted to his Instagram account shortly after the Lakers were notified that Dwight Howard had decided to join the Rockets speak for itself.

I am more disappointed about the LA Kings losing Rob Scuderi.

(Guy has 2 rings more than Dwight Howard)

  2. metalhead65 - Jul 6, 2013 at 1:59 AM

I certainly hope and will enjoy the lakers being down next year but I want them to make the playoffs. we all know what will happen if they are in the lottery and I do not want that to happen. they need to spend a few years in mediocrity not get the #1 pick and turn around quickly.

  3. ji8888 - Jul 6, 2013 at 2:19 AM

Kobe will be out from that torn achilles and Lakers ship will go down slowly.

  4. 00maltliquor - Jul 6, 2013 at 3:13 AM

I LOVE IT, KOBE!! Christ that’s brilliant! What’s with Pau’s thing with sonnin’ people though, LOL

  5. 00maltliquor - Jul 6, 2013 at 3:20 AM

Watch, Jordan Hill will have a monster breakout year. He’ll probably be in the running for most rebounds average if we could just freaking start him and play him over 32 min. a game. Just watch. He’s gonna have a near all-star year, I have a lot of faith in that guy. I know it doesn’t sound that logical or what have you to most of you reading this, but all I have to say is just check him and keep and eye out for him in the boxscores next season. So as long as he’s given a chance.

  6. theskinsman - Jul 6, 2013 at 4:25 AM

Malt, how about posting something in English? Laker fans should be burning Bryant’s jerseys, the fool drove off the best shot the Lakers had to get back to being relevant,
Now they can be old, slowed down, and Kobe will take 50 shots a game, and blame his teammates when the team misses the playoffs next season.

    • ronocca - Jul 7, 2013 at 1:28 PM

Yeah, you got it. You’re so smart.

  7. jeff6381 - Jul 6, 2013 at 8:17 AM

Wasn’t it just a few months ago Kobe called Pau soft? Now they are bf’s wait till next season when Pau leaves and see how close they are then

    • lilcuz717 - Jul 6, 2013 at 10:45 AM

D12 wanted kobe to hand his team over why tell me what has he done to be qualified clearly he wasnt for orlando la a way bigger market

    • lmoneyfresh - Jul 6, 2013 at 1:30 PM

Kobe likes to railroad guys who help him win titles for some reason. Apparently that means they’re BFFs in Kobe’s mind.

    • ronocca - Jul 7, 2013 at 1:29 PM

      No. You’re making stuff up.

    • asimonetti88 - Jul 8, 2013 at 10:54 PM

Good friends can be honest with each other. My friend is always too desperate when talking to chicks. My buddies and I call him out on it all the time. It’s not ragging on him it’s just being honest.

  8. omniusprime - Jul 6, 2013 at 9:03 AM

Not too surprised the traitor dwight coward jumped ship for that loser garbage heap known as houston. He’ll tire of losing with the rockets and ditch them before long. Still comes down to that moron Jerky Jim Buss not being smart enough to bring back Phil Jackson when it was possible, instead hiring that piece of garbage Dumbtoni.

Love Kobe’s simple message to Pau, that Pau is Kobe’s BFF and most likely will not be traded. Now if only Kupcake will be smart enough to ditch Trash Nash and Steve Flake to get younger and better at point guard. I guess now Greg Oden has a shot at becoming a Laker but I hope that the idiots in power aren’t that totally brain dead. The Lakers really need a great center if they’re going to compete for a championship.

Dwight Coward the Traitor – Good Riddance Loser!

    • db3300 - Jul 6, 2013 at 9:19 PM

That sure is a lot of venom over a player you’re glad to see go. Wallow in it, loser. You can also wallow in that festering cr@phole of LA.

      • polonelmeagrejr - Jul 7, 2013 at 6:58 AM

“Traitor?” I thought Kobe was the anti-CHrist. It is predicted in REvelations,”In the end of days the sun will set in the West and all the spaniards in the world will avail them naught,” (4:20)

  9. bellerophon30 - Jul 6, 2013 at 10:04 AM

Pau and Kobe are friends and business partners off the court, so the pic is understandable. I like it though, not just for being a dig at Dwight, but for what it’s telling Pau.

But let’s remember one key thing: Dwight hasn’t signed a thing yet. With him, nothing is done until it’s signed and done.

  10. lilcuz717 - Jul 6, 2013 at 10:41 AM

Did the world forget pau played center when la beat D12 and orlando for there second straight ring

  11. acdc363 - Jul 6, 2013 at 11:13 AM

yeah good luck winning titles without a C kobe lol when is this guy gonna realize how annoying he is to play with!

  12. mentalhealth54 - Jul 6, 2013 at 11:45 AM

I know there are Kobe haters and let’s get to the facts: it’s about the rings and Pau and Kobe have them and to my knowledge Dwight doesn’t. Dwight Howard doesn’t know how to win. He is who he is. He won’t win in Houston because Houston is not a championship caliber team even with Dwight Howard. When it comes down to it, in my opinion, I think the Lakers are better off without him. and for the Laker haters, there are 10 championships that will counter any losing season (which they will have preparing for the next)

  13. skinsfanwill - Jul 6, 2013 at 11:47 AM

Buss is the problem here. He hired a worthless coach (twice), he should have never let Bynum go, and he should have hired the Zen Master. I’ve never seen an owner run an organization into the hole like this guy. All behind his stupid ego. I think he may be upset with his dad about something. He can’t possibly think he’s making good decisions.

    • Anoesis - Jul 6, 2013 at 9:57 PM

Yes, Jim-boy seems pretty clueless, but he lucked out in trading Bynum away. What, the Lakers would have been better off with paying Bynum to go bowling?

Jackson wasn’t coming back, no matter what anyone says His idea of coaching the Lakers was to stay at home with Jeanie while the Lakers went on the road. I guess an assistant would have coached them away from Staples.

Jim-boy’s problem is that he thinks his dad’s genius must have been transferred via sperm, instead of realizing there are smarter people around who could run the team much better. He’ll either get better (he couldn’t be much worse), realize he needs to find someone else to run the operation, or turn the Lakers into something like what Sterling’s Clippers were for so long. Hey, that turd eventually learned, why not Jim-boy?

Kobe cares about one thing, winning, and he’s got a hand full of rings to show for it. Dwight needs to have his ego stroked, told how funny he is and how much he is loved; he’s a head case. Every fan base would be EXTREMELY lucky to have Kobe’s personality in their players. He’s not there to make friends and if you’re desire to be popular is as big as you’re will to win Kobe’s going to call you out on it. LOVE KOBE!!!!!

    • polonelmeagrejr - Jul 7, 2013 at 7:00 AM

Kobe cares about one thing – Kobe

      • ronocca - Jul 7, 2013 at 1:32 PM

When did you first realize you could read minds?

      • ludachrisgsx - Jul 8, 2013 at 10:29 AM

Swap Kobe’s name in your sentence for just about any of the greatest to play the game and the same would be true – it was certainly true with MJ. They all care about themselves the most. The burning desire to win is a selfish and egotistical trait. Everyone loves to criticize Kobe for being self centered, yet they praise other past champions that they like better, who were just as self centered… it’s pretty ironic.

    • 8to80texansblog - Jul 8, 2013 at 3:54 PM

Please don’t forget who ran the greatest coach in the history of the game out of town along with one of the greatest centers ever….

  15. ProBasketballPundit - Jul 6, 2013 at 11:55 AM

Pau is sonnin Kobe in that picture. Chris Paul has thrown punches for less.

    • Anoesis - Jul 6, 2013 at 9:58 PM

Apparently Kobe isn’t half the punk Paul is.

      • ProBasketballPundit - Jul 6, 2013 at 10:45 PM

Anoesis is such a great word and username. I’ll just assume all your posts are golden.

It is really interesting, how as always, this has become Kobe’s fault that Mr Indecision, has decided to go to Houston…even after the man tells the world that Kobe never said all of the things that the sorry ass media blasted for two days…its asking one helluva’ lot of you Kobe haters to look at what is real…the chances of D12 staying in L.A., was doomed when Jim Buss took over the Laker player side of the organization…his jealousy and extreme dislike for Phil Jackson, the Triangle offense and Phil’s association with Jim’s sister, Jeanie, destroyed the chances of retaining Howard…because he refused to rehire Jackson or Shaw to coach the team, which is what all of the players wanted and he jettisoned all of the coaches, scouts, or whatever, that had any connection to the Jackson “regime”. So…you can appease yourselves by laying the blame on Kobe…but, deep down inside, you haters know…that’s not the case…oh, by the way…Kobe and Shaq weren’t the best of friends, hell, they just finally buried their hatchets about a year or so ago; but they managed to win three rings together…one more, oh, by the way…Diva12, at some point is going to have to man up…mentally…he can jump from team to team, but at some point, he is going to have to accept the challenge and responsibility of being the driving force to getting a ring…the pressure is on him now, more than ever to win…the Houston Rockets are supposedly, now set to win it all, they plan to add one more piece, I believe, Josh Smith and that will be it…we shall see, what we shall see…lf the
Rockets don’t win a championship in the next two seasons, what will the excuses be? What will Howard say is the problem? Will any portion of the problem be HIM? Finally…If the Lakers, who will have max cap money available next summer, are able to go out and rebuild, as their history shows and win a championship, before the Rockets….OH MY…ah’m jus’ sayin’….

    jeff6381, your opinions don’t count.
