Grizzlies reach three-year deal to keep Jon Leuer

Jon Leuer played a limited role for the Grizzlies last season, but they liked what they saw enough to bring him back.

The Grizzlies have reached a three-year, $3 million deal to bring Leuer back to the bench next year, according to Ronald Tillery of the Commercial Appeal.

Lauer is a four who’s game is really going to be face up — 28 percent of his shots with the Grizzlies were spot ups and he hit half of them. He can work off the ball. He is not a guy who is going to get you points in the post, but he can work well off the pick-and-roll.

At that price, this is a nice move by Memphis.

I read THREE year deal to keep Leuer and I was gonna go ballistic. Then I clicked open the article and found it to be for only 3 million. Wow…Kurt, I need a stat check please!……is this the cheapest 3 year deal (consider inflation or what have you when players from way back got signed) in the history of the league? He would get more money signing 1 year contracts for the next 3 years then this deal since vets minimum is a lil’ over a mill (1.3?) anyways.

It is a little more than the minimum, but it’s about as cheap as I remember.

And Hollinger’s man crush on Leuer continues…
