Scottie Pippen was allegedly involved in a violent altercation with an autograph-seeker outside of Nobu restaurant in Malibu, CA on Sunday night.

The incident is under police investigation, but Pippen has been cooperating and he hasn’t been arrested or charged at this time.

The initial report, from TMZ:

TMZ broke the story … Pippen allegedly brutalized an autograph seeker outside Nobu restaurant Sunday night.  The man was knocked out after Pippen allegedly punched him in the face and kicked him repeatedly.

Pippen left the scene.  As for the victim … he was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, including broken teeth and a swollen mouth.  He also suffered injuries to his head and back.

Pippen was subsequently named as a suspect for a felony charge of assault with intent to commit great bodily injury.

The follow-up report from the Chicago Tribune states that Pippen has spoken with police and will not be arrested, though the investigation will continue.

By Monday afternoon, Pippen had been questioned by police and was cooperative, said Steve Whitmore, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County sheriff’s office. Pippen was allowed to leave without being charged, said Whitmore.

“Mr. Pippen will not be arrested, there’s more here than meets the eye,” said Whitmore.

He said the investigation was continuing. “We have to investigate and check with all the witnesses and find out exactly what happened,” said Whitmore.

The facts are that Pippen was involved in some type of altercation, but he has not been arrested or charged with a crime at this time, and is cooperating with authorities. We’ll refrain from speculating on any additional details.

Pippen played 17 seasons in the NBA, and was a member of six championship teams while playing for the Chicago Bulls. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2010.

Something is seriously wrong with justice in California if you can break a man’s teeth, knock him out, kick him while he’s down, and not be arrested for it. I don’t believe that BS that “there’s more here than meets the eye”. Like what? Pippen apparently didn’t have any injuries and the guy didn’t have a gun, so what gives? I hope at least the cops got Pippen’s autograph before they let him go.

And you believe what you wrote because you were there or re the Oracle, pump your brakes dude and drop the voodoo doll

Sorry I interrupted you and the commenter’s below while you all were busy sucking Scottie Pippens d*ck. Carry on.

It’s interesting how you seem to have all the facts. Why don’t you call up the Malibu police department and share what you know so they can bag this assailant.

It’s called star stuck police, couple of autographs, wink, wink and away went Scottie.

Nobody is star-struck in L.A., except the tourists, and certainly not the cops. I worked with a lot of cops in Ventura and L.A. counties when I lived in SoCal and most of them were too busy doing their jobs to even know who the “celebrities” were.

If that’s the case, how come Justin Berbier is driving his Ferrari in his private community at 100 MPH even with Keyshawn screaming at him to slow down ?
I’m sure the Ventura cops know who Tom Cruise is and that he has a $ 60 million dollar ranch in Santa Barbara.

You weren’t there and haven’t heard all the details. There are plenty of crazy fans and papparazzi that deserves a beat down.

If this fool initiated the attack to Pippen or his family\friend then he deserves it. Pippen was smart to turn himself into the police soon afterwards. He doesn’t have anything to hide if he was only protecting himself.

Apparently you didn’t read the article or the quote from the Police Spokesman, “…there’s more here than meets the eye”.

Folks are always quick to jump to conclusions (think Allen Iverson last week). Just wait for the case to play out then you can chirp, “I told you so” or simply go away.

my friend let me tell you, many people have gotten their ass kicked
and then call the cops with a different version.
you can’t arrest people with no evidence of any kind, if the cops get
evidence and a witness they will press charges.

@azarkhan – now in light of new info that the guy spit on Pippen while he was holding his 4 yr old daughter and called him a racial slur, what do you say now? Let me guess, everybody is lying to take up for Pippen because he’s still an important person in the league….right?

  5. northstarnic - Jun 24, 2013 at 7:22 PM

Sounds like he kicked the crap outta this guy. Seems awfully strange he’s not being charged. Did he tell the cops he knows Jordan/offer to get them Jordan’s autograph?

Someone messed up his nose. Oh, that picture was before the fight?

See they are tougher from the 80s and 90s. Or maybe he said something about not being a great tipper.

  8. fnc111 - Jun 24, 2013 at 10:06 PM

I’m hearing there was way more to this. No Tippin Pippen is always friendly towards autograph seekers.

  9. jm9ulose - Jun 24, 2013 at 11:39 PM

He better watch out before someone gives him an egg on his head like Zo did in the 97 Conference Finals

What’s Pippen’s resume at the end for?
