Darko Milicic confirms he does not plan to re-sign in NBA

You’re not going to have Darko Milicic to kick around in the NBA.

He has signed to play in Europe next season and he told a Serbian Web site there is no chance he returns to the NBA (hat tip to Matt Moore and CBSSports).

“No more chances. This is a done deal,” Milicic said according to Google Translate. While that means the quote may not be a perfect translation, if you read the entire post what is clear is he sees his NBA time in the rear view mirror.

Milicic signed to play in Boston last season with Celtics fans hoping he could provide solid minutes off the bench to spell Kevin Garnett. Didn’t exactly work out that way. Milicic appeared in one Boston game for all of five minutes. The Celtics had waived him before Thanksgiving.

The former No. 2 pick of the Pistons — he was selected behind LeBron James but ahead of Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade, among others — appears to thrown in he w after 10 seasons. He retires with a championship ring — remember he was a rookie on the 2004 Pistons.

And I would like to confirm that I will neither care, nor lose any sleep over Darko not wanting to come back and play with the big boys in the NBA. Go enjoy yourself playing against D-League level competition that way you might be able to look slightly above average, homeboy.

I don’t plan on playing in the NBA next year either, which is only slightly less newsworthy than Milicic not playing in the NBA next year.

What in the world was Joe Dumars thinking when he passed on Wade and Carmello to draft this guy?? I forgot his reasoning……

He had an acute condition of Isaiah Thomas in the left lobe.

10 years with a ring? This dude had a better career than Benoit Benjamin. Probably made more money too. Sheesh!!!

he ended up lasting a lot longer than I thought he would

More championships than ‘Melo! Seriously though Joe D was masterful in getting that unprotected first rounder with that team in place. The failure came when he figured they would be good enough long enough to take a flyer on this clown…. Hey where is the link to this guy’s post game tirade talking about killing/banging people’s mothers??

Just think of the Pistons team back then but with Dwyane Wade as a rookie and in his prime. How many titles would they have won?

In about 10 years I’m guessing a 30 for 30 on this colossal draft bust in one of the strongest draft classes ever will be made.

They’re way too busy on doing gone broke and busted stories on US guys to fly to Europe.
The line goes around the block and ends up at the Swapmeet where Ai’s booth is. Nice chains.

Remember when everyone praised Joe Dumars? How things change.

In solidarity with Darko, I won’t be in the NBA either…

Joe changed the entire landscape of the NBA with this colossal blunder. Just think had he taken Wade or Bosh (rumor is it would’ve been Bosh) how different things would be today. Even though Bosh is the least of the “Big 2.5”, the Heat wouldn’t have won back to back without him.

Betcha Darko got 90% of his money in the bank. 90% of NBA ,n-o-t s-o much.Darko to star in” Borat comes back “. Cameo of Pamela Anderson . Staring Kim and her sisters.

Darko + Sam Bowie = Why you don’t pick need over BPA when drafting.

The article makes it sound like the Celtics released him because of how he played.

He actually left the team because his mom was very ill:

He was released only after he told them he was staying with his family.

    Omitting facts is not good.

    Talk about hack journalism…..
