Trophy presentation time: Heat get Larry O’Brien, LeBron gets MVP (VIDEO)

Jun 21, 2013, 2:52 AM EDT

This is the last time David Stern is ever going to be up on the podium handing out the Larry O’Brien Trophy and saying “champeens.” Go ahead and be sentimental about that.

Above is the video of the trophy presentation, following the Spurs 95-88Game 7 win.

You also get to see LeBron James get the Bill Russell MVP trophy from Bill Russell. Which is pretty dang cool.

I’m pretty accepting of typos, but “Spurs” game 7 win?? Come on, man.

Incredible. You don’t have to love LeBron, you don’t have to call him King James, but you have to respect what he did and you have to love the humility he showed in acknowledging that he is blessed just to have the opportunity to play this game.

If, when he was drafted, you had said that in the first ten years of his career LBJ would go to the finals four times, win two titles in which he was finals MVP, and win four regular-season MVP awards, I think most would say that’s exceeding expectations. It says something about how high he has set the bar that just a few days ago his entire career was on trial all over again.
