LeBron James’ clutchiest jumper sends Heat to Game 7 victory, third championship (video)

Jun 20, 2013, 11:50 PM EDT

LeBron James scared to take the big shot? I don’t think so.

In the final minute of Game 7 of the NBA Finals, LeBron declined what would have been a good pass to an open Mario Chalmers. Instead, LeBron pulled up for the jumper himself and absolutely buried it.

The shot put Miami up by four points with 27.9 seconds left, and although that didn’t clinch the game, his subsequent steal and two made free throws put the Heat up six and sent the Spurs into desperation mode.

Heat 95, Spurs 88. Miami is the 2013 NBA Champions.

They had the lead the shot is not so hard at that point, but oh well Green & Manu hurt us more then they help tonight, time for the spurs to move on from a few players!!!

    • dacapt704 - Jun 21, 2013 at 12:50 AM

Yeah bc YOU would have drained the shot..no problem right?

      • goraidersgospurs - Jun 21, 2013 at 3:36 AM

        Sure why not!!!

      • fanofevilempire - Jun 21, 2013 at 7:42 AM

he would have stained his fruit of the looms

    • nobandwagonridersallowed - Jun 21, 2013 at 1:50 AM

Dude, u sound like a hater… 25 seconds left in the game and he rises up and drains the shot only being up by 2 at the time. Give credit where credit is due.

Had Kobe, Jordan or even your boy Tony Parker done it, it would’ve been because “they are clutch”

I have a parade to go to Monday… Guess the haters have to wait until next year

There’s always a fool with a “BUT” OR “AS IF” OR “WHEREAS” Do us all a favor… continue crying in your corner and suck your own C*&(*^)ck you fool!! enjoy the summer while we enjoy this incredible victory.

Please, if LeBron misses that shot and the Spurs get a rebound, it’s their ball with a chance to tie or take the lead. Had the Spurs won, the story would be that in the end, LeBron couldn’t close the game out. There’s no shame in crediting a guy for knocking down a huge shot in just about as big a moment as you can find.

Not to mention LBJ follows it up with a steal and two free throws (on a night he was perfect from the line).

    Shot of his career!

    Where is cantonbound??

    • HotHotHeat - Jun 21, 2013 at 12:45 AM

      Cried himself to sleep.

    • fanofevilempire - Jun 21, 2013 at 7:47 AM

leave cantonbound alone, he is like LBJ, they don’t shake hands when they lose.

great nba season, looking forward to next year.

I hope the Knickerbockers can beat the Heat next year in the east.

      • zeedoubleyou - Jun 21, 2013 at 10:20 AM

Who is the Knicks second best player? The fact that no one knows the answer says everything about that team’s chances next year.

      • hehateme2 - Jun 21, 2013 at 5:45 PM

Your kidding right? The knicks don’t belong in the same conversation as the Heat.

  4. longtallsam - Jun 21, 2013 at 12:47 AM

Miami is the NBA Champions? I think that should be, “Miami is the NBA Champion.” Teamwise, there is only one Champion this year.

I Just wanna say, thank you Spurs/Heat for such an awesome, great NBA Finals. Thoroughly enjoyed myself, even if the outcome was not what I was rooting for. I love the NBA!!!

    • loungefly74 - Jun 21, 2013 at 12:56 AM

      couldn’t agree more

    • limonadamas - Jun 21, 2013 at 1:58 AM

Seriously… One of the best finals we’ve had in years in terms of sheer entertainment and lack of real controversy, refereeing or otherwise.

Can’t wait for next season, regardless what happens to our team. haha

    • badintent - Jun 21, 2013 at 2:04 AM

congrats to both teams for a super series. No Pacer thuggery. Thanks to never having to hear Herr Stern blow smoke up his own ass presenting the trophy. I wish I had Riley’s tailor . Hats off to Shane for all those 3s ! And Mario makes a X-mas shot at the end of the third. ( those 3 points came back to haunt the Spurs at the end).Birdman played a great 6.5 man off the bench.Miami gets a new center next year, Chrissy failing to score a single point in a final game is a new level in softness per Poshy Boshy

what a season…I want to write up some “year in review” comment but im tired as hell out here on the east coast so i’ll wait on that. congrats to the heat and spurs. what a great finals.
