Jordan Farmar wants to return to NBA

Remember Jordan Farmar?

He was a key reserve on two Lakers championship teams and then signed with the Nets. In 2011-12, he scored a career-high 10.4 points per game on a career-best 44 percent 3-point shooting.

Then, he was traded to the Hawks in the Joe Johnson deal, bought out and signed in Turkey never to be heard from again.

Now, he’s eyeing an NBA return. Gery Woelfel of the Journal Times:

Farmar, the former first-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Lakers, spent this season playing for Anadolu Efes in the Turkish League. He signed a three-year, $15 million contract last July with Efes, but can op out after every season.

“He wants to come back to the NBA, for sure,” said Tony Dutt, Farmar’s agent who also happens to be a friend of Bucks general manager John Hammond. “He’s still young and he could help some teams.”

If Farmar can make about $5 million in Turkey, he would likely have to take a pay cut to play in the NBA. Maybe the American lifestyle and the NBA’s prestige appeal to him to the degree he’s willing to do that, but it’s also possible he has a change of heart once he gets lower offers.
