D-Will, other NBA players respond to Kidd being hired by Nets

One of the advantages Jason Kidd had in his quest to get the Brooklyn Nets coaching job was a long-standing good relationship with Deron Williams.

The Nets aren’t going to be able to do much to improve their roster this summer, they need to count on player improvement and guys being coached up. The sense is that when Williams is really on his game — when he’s engaged and focused — the Nets are a much better team. And the idea is Kidd can get that out of him.

So how did D-will respond to the news of Kidd’s hiring? Just like the Nets hoped. And the response from other players around the league was positive, too.

it’s clear kidd’s peers have the utmost respect and acknowledgement for him. that has me wondering if kidd has the fortitude to get through to a demarcus cousins type.

Kidd is incredibly relevant to today’s stars so he can certainly get through those barriers. They may struggle next year but I could see a Mark Jackson-type performance over the next 2-3 yrs. Yes, they are strapped with bad contracts and Billy King, but I see Kidd being here for a little bit.
