Watch Heat’s Chalmers bounce the ball off Hibbert’s head (VIDEO)

May 27, 2013, 10:25 AM EST

It’s a pretty standard play — a player tries to save a ball going out of bounds and retain possession by throwing it off the body of a guy near the sidelines.

It just doesn’t normally happen off a guy’s head. But that was what happened here as Roy Hibbert went to the ground chasing a loose ball and Mario Chalmers tried to save the ball and throw it off Hibbert. I don’t think this was really intentional.

Thanks to SLAM for the video.

Top 10 point…I can’t complete that comment without laughing.

I would be willing to bet that if Super Mario played on a typical NBA team that ran a natural offense, Rio would easily be a top 15 point guard in the league. His ceiling is probably Jarrett Jack with a better 3 ball.

If your saying his ceiling is Jarrett Jack, then how could he easily be a top 15 PG in the league? Jarrett Jack, as much as I like him, isn’t even a top 15 PG right now coming off his best season.

If he were a starter, like last year Jack would have been top 15 easy.

      • 00maltliquor - May 27, 2013 at 1:40 PM

I don’t buy that malarkey. There are so many good PG’s out there. Let’s see…(In no particular order, can’t stress that enough)

        Rajon Rondo
        Deron Williams
        Jrue Holiday
        Kyle Lowry
        Mike Conley
        Grieves Vazquez
        Tony Parker
        Derrick Rose
        Kyrie Irving
        George Hill
        Brandon Jennings
        Ty Lawson
        Ricky Rubio
        Damien Lillard
        Russell Westbrook
        Jeff Teague
        John Wall
        Kemba Walker
        Chris Paul
        Goran Dragic

That’s 20. You can argue Andre Miller, Steve Nash, Avery Bradley (if you consider him a PG), Ray Felton (I wouldn’t personally, but you could), and maybe even Jeremy Lin. But I’ll leave it at 20.

The only people you might be able to build a case against to knock off that list in favor of Jack would be Dragic, Teague and Lowry. But only because they had off seasons (excluding Teague) and Jack had a real good one. That would still put him firmly at 17, and no higher.

…And just for fun, PG’s I’d rather have then Rio, not on the above list….
        (once again, not in order)

        Jose Calderon
        Jameer Nelson
        Eric Bledsoe
        Ramon Sessions
        Darren Collison
        Nate Robinson
        Aaron Brooks
        Isaiah Thomas
        Mo Williams
        JJ Barea
        mayyyybeee Luke Ridnour. Maybe.

      • pantsfreezone - May 27, 2013 at 4:36 PM

Well, I’d rather have Rio than Vasquez, Dragic, Jennings, Walker, Rubio, and everyone on your second list besides Bledsoe.

Rio plays defense, is an above average passer, can drive and kick and hit the three ball. If he weren’t playing with four future Hall of Famers and ran a prototypical offense, his numbers would be good enough to get him into the top 15 PGs in the league. He isn’t asked to, nor expected to do much more than facilitate the offense, feed the stars and hit his open shots in Spo’s offense.

I would be willing to bet you are wrong yet again.

      • pantsfreezone - May 27, 2013 at 8:30 PM

The difference is nobody cares what you think cantonbound13.

    • miamatt - May 27, 2013 at 1:13 PM

I have the same exact problem whenever I try to comment on the Knicks.

    • jimmymarlinsfan - May 27, 2013 at 1:29 PM

How is Felton’s short game? Must be improving with all the time he has on his hands now

      • cantonbound13 - May 27, 2013 at 4:40 PM

Leave it to you to be concerned about a “short” game.

    • leahcima1 - May 27, 2013 at 7:35 PM

He certainly is better than anything in a Knicks uniform. Right cantonbound13?

      • cantonbound13 - May 27, 2013 at 7:48 PM

Dumbest comment ever. I don’t think Chalmers would even make that comment.

  2. miamatt - May 27, 2013 at 1:13 PM

    Classic Chalmers!

  3. BrownsTown - May 27, 2013 at 6:56 PM

Thought maybe the first video posted would have been the Wade flop.

Probably getting old at this point.

    • cantonbound13 - May 27, 2013 at 7:50 PM

Or a cheap shot by Dwhine Wade.
