Judge temporarily halts mother’s sale of Kobe memorabilia

Round one goes to Kobe Bryant.

Kobe Bryant’s mother Pamela wanted to put a bunch of memorabilia Kobe left at her house — a Lower Merion game worn high school jersey, a replica 2000 Lakers championship ring he gave her and more — up for auction. Not for charity, she wanted to money to put down on a house.

Kobe took her to court to stop the sale of his stuff (as he saw it). Why court? Because that’s the kind of relationship Kobe and his mother have now.

A judge has put a temporary restraining order on the sale until he could find out more, reports TMZ (because of course it was TMZ who got it first).

TMZ has learned a judge issued a temporary restraining order against Goldin Auctions, prohibiting them from selling Kobe’s jerseys, championship rings, trophies, and lots of other stuff until a full hearing can be held next Monday.

The legal question is essentially did he give her this stuff (as she claimed) or was she just holding it for him (like your mom is still probably is doing with a bunch of your stuff right now). The bigger question of why Kobe and his mother are at odds like this is one better left to a team of psychiatrists.
