Stephen Curry went off in third quarter for 22 (VIDEO)

May 7, 2013, 8:45 AM EDT

You know as you read this Gregg Popovich is scheming up a way to slow down Stephen Curry.

George Karl tried last round with limited success — Curry is the best shooter in the game and as defenses are tightening on the Warriors he is taking on a larger role . He is tearing apart good teams right. This is the 22 points (plus assists) Curry dished out in the third quarter against the Spurs. The Spurs. This isn’t the Bucks he’s torching. Curry finished with 44 points and 11 assists, but it just wasn’t enough.

I imagine Curry is going to have a tougher time finding space in Game 2. I also imagine at some points it’s not going to matter what the Spurs do.

I think Popovich figured out how to best approach Curry, and that’s putting Leonard on him. Leonard might be able to stop Curry per se (cause its pretty tough to stop a guy who can hit anything), but Leonard will make him work extremely hard to get his shots, and thats all you can ask.

Yea putting Leonard on him may prove to be the difference in the series. I still think GSW can hang. The same thing happened to them against denver in game one with the Andre Miller game winner.

This guy really has the potential to be an all time great.

Figured out hahah, good one Pop is not gonna let one player try to guard SC for all 48 min,he’s going to throw everybody at him but yes the Glove 2.0 will guard him when it matters ,Leonard is a big part of the Los Spurs offence he won’t let him waste all his energy guarding him all night.we can just hope SC misses some shots, but they let this game get away!!!! Los Spurs in 5..

    For the Warriors fans

Leonard cannot guard Curry all game. And the fact is, Curry was going past him with ease until he obviously became tired. He couldn’t burst into the lane and his shot became flat and short with the tired legs. He can score 40 and impact another 20+ points (as he did last night with 11 assists) in every game. And as long as Klay, Harry, Bogut and Landry continue doing what they’ve done, they’ll be right in position to win each game of this series.

The keys are what Ezeli and Green give them off the bench, and can Jack STOP SHOOTING TEAMS BACK INTO GAMES AND TURNING THE BALL OVER LIKE IT’S HIS JOB?

It wasn’t enough though was it? A true star and leader would have showed up for the last 14 minutes of the game.
