Michael Jordan married model/fiancée over the weekend

Apr 29, 2013, 10:45 AM EST

Michael Jordan, Yvette Prieto AP

Keeping the lid on a celebrity wedding is not easy, but Michael Jordan has always craved privacy for her personal life and he did as good a job at it as one could expect over the weekend.

Jordan, the man many consider the greatest basketball player ever, married his fiancé Yvette Prieto, a former model, in Florida Saturday.

Jordan, the owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, met Prieto five years ago and they got engaged last December. There were an estimated 500 guests at the wedding and another 1,500 at the reception (according to People Magazine) and the band at Jordan’s wedding was better than the one at yours (and mine), reports the Associated Press.

Entertainment included DJ MC Lyte, singers K’Jon, Robin Thicke and Grammy Award winner Usher and The Source, an 18-piece band.

I wish Jordan and Prieto all the best and hope for a long and happy marriage. PBT pitched in and bought you a fondue set, just tell us where to send it.

  5. cantonbound13 - Apr 29, 2013 at 11:14 AM

She now has as many rings as LeBron.

    • southbeachtalent - Apr 29, 2013 at 12:46 PM

      and one more than Carmelo!

      • fanofevilempire - Apr 29, 2013 at 2:25 PM

La La gave Melo a ring, does that count?

      • cantonbound13 - Apr 29, 2013 at 2:45 PM

Sensitive bandwagoner. Are you going to pull a Bosh Spice & cry?

    • fanofevilempire - Apr 29, 2013 at 2:27 PM

and LeBron had to get Wade and HOF’er Bosh together before
he got his bling, Melo won in college and he is a bad-a-ss scorer
      on a mission.

      • comeonnowguys - Apr 29, 2013 at 4:10 PM

Can’t tell if sarcasm, or you really think Chris Bosh is Hall of Famer.

  6. erckle31 - Apr 29, 2013 at 11:22 AM

I really hoped he signed a prenup this time… Good lord. His ex-wife is worth more than most NBA players.

  7. dgforreal - Apr 29, 2013 at 11:30 AM

“Michael Jordan has always craved privacy for her personal life”

You heard it here first folks.

  8. kerbyjr1 - Apr 29, 2013 at 11:43 AM

  10. rodge1 - Apr 29, 2013 at 12:07 PM

    • cantonbound13 - Apr 29, 2013 at 12:38 PM

Chandler & Kidd have the one when they beat LeBron & your overrated Heatles. What? What? STFU Moron!

      • 4thquartermagic - Apr 29, 2013 at 1:04 PM

Ha you clown. Championships from other teams don’t count.

Tell me is there a Dallas Mavericks World Champions banner up in the rafters at MSG?

        Whats that?
        No.
        Ok then.

      • brianjoates - Apr 29, 2013 at 1:19 PM

You don’t have to like the Heat, but overrated? Come on…winning 41 of their last 43, that’s strong coming off a championship season.

This Heat run has the chance to be special and one of those teams you talk about years from now that you were glad you got to see them play.

      • cantonbound13 - Apr 29, 2013 at 2:42 PM

@4thquartermoron: I hope your not a Heat fan making comments about what teams hang up in the rafters. Your sad organization is the only one that hangs regular season division titles in the rafters as well as opponents jerseys (MJ). Next should be Tim Donoghey, who handed you your first title, followed by David Stern.

    • fventricle - Apr 29, 2013 at 2:33 PM

      Phil Jackson.

    • badintent - Apr 29, 2013 at 9:13 PM

She has more rings than 90 % of the NBA for that matter.

  11. sportsnut101 - Apr 29, 2013 at 12:14 PM

Yes jordan ex wife got what she deserved They were married forever ther was no prenup in the 1980s

N he slept with hundreds of girls I’m sure. Of it

It’s not like Michael is broke after it. He releases 2 pairs of Jordan’s n. his wife fee is covered. U. Think it hurt his bank account. Nope Now only if he could sell that ugly house in Chicago look Ike office building

This wife is gorgeous. Lucky her. She goes to night club n bam instant millionaire

    Ahmad Rashad objects !

  13. progress2011 - Apr 29, 2013 at 12:52 PM

I was one of the biggest Jordan fans…..WHEN HE COULD PLAY.

But now, he is one of those annoying a$$ Has-Beens that won’t friggin go away!

Him and his idol-worshiper Kobe/ freddy krueger find any way possible to catch a headline/ stay in the spot-light !

The best thing this ego-maniac/ narcissistic/ pompous/ no golf playing dude should do is:

    1. Sell that team – He is the WORST owner in history. The city of Charlotte deserves better
    2. Go hide somewhere, I’m tired of seeing yo shiny cranium
    3. Stop trying to stay in the spotlight – you are no longer a player
    4. Be graceful in retirement as you watch LBJ break all your records

  14. bigrele - Apr 29, 2013 at 2:40 PM

Where’s the poster “michaeljordanseviltwin” at when you need him? lol

  15. rodge1 - Apr 29, 2013 at 2:42 PM

    @cantonbound13
You’re right, but those rings weren’t attained with the Knicks. And you forgot to mention Terry, moron.

    • fanofevilempire - Apr 29, 2013 at 3:55 PM

do they have to throw the rings away?

  16. rodge1 - Apr 29, 2013 at 2:46 PM

Leave to a Knicks’ fan to take credit for rings won with other teams.

    • cantonbound13 - Apr 29, 2013 at 4:48 PM

Leave it to an idiot to state: “She has more rings than any Knicks”. All I said is there are 2 Knicks currently that won rings. If you want to take shots, speak properly.

  17. rodge1 - Apr 29, 2013 at 2:49 PM

Bosh spice was winning a ring last year while Carmelo was applying ointment to Amare’s fire-extinguisher-wounds.

    • cantonbound13 - Apr 29, 2013 at 4:50 PM

Shouldn’t you be studying for the GED?

      • badintent - Apr 29, 2013 at 9:14 PM

He’s studing for his Tool kit from shop class. A tool for a tool

  18. mazblast - Apr 29, 2013 at 4:25 PM

Rather than get into a whizzing contest between fans of the Knicks and Heat, for whom Jordan never played, I’ll stick to the subject.

Congratulations to Mr. and Ms. Jordan, may you have many, many happy years together.

  19. rodge1 - Apr 29, 2013 at 11:03 PM

    @cantonbound13
Congrats, you caught my grammatical error. You’re still a loser Sid.

    • cantonbound13 - Apr 30, 2013 at 10:42 AM

      Who the hell is Sid?
