Chris Paul with crazy game winner to put Clippers up 2-0 (VIDEO)

Apr 23, 2013, 2:05 AM EDT

Chris Paul is a superstar.

That right there is why you have superstars on your team.

Paul got the ball out high with :13 seconds left in a tie game , had a very good and physical defender on him in Tony Allen, drove and was physical right back, got away with a pushoff but created the space then hit a very difficult shot. (Grizzlies fans, if you really want to complain watch how Blake Griffin gets away with an Raiders offensive lineman quality hold on Darrell Arthur who can’t get over to contest the shot.)

After a review by the referees they put 0.1 seconds back on the clock but the Grizzlies were not going to get the miracle tip.

With that shot the Clippers win 93-91 and go up 2-0 in the series. That is a gut shot for the Grizzlies, this was a game they could have won.

The push off wasn’t THAT bad. Griffin’s hold is what made the shot. Very hard to stay with any NBA player for 13 seconds without some help defense, expecially a guard the quality of Chris Paul.

Great game and great shot by CP3.

While CP3 did push off, it was no worse than the usual push-offs I’ve seen All-Stars get away with for years. Referees seem reluctant to call offensive fouls on push-offs unless the ballhandler fully extends his arm into the defender’s chest – players who just extend their arms 2/3 or less (keeping their arms at least partially flexed at the elbow) aren’t penalized.

The no-call on Blake Griffin holding (with both arms) a defender who was trying to cut off CP3’s drive is the one Memphis fans can be upset about. There’s always pulling/grabbing going on in the paint, but that was a lot for the referees to allow on the biggest play in the game.

The refs were too busy keeping an eye out for Paul . That’s where the action was . Chalk up a game ball for Griffin . Without him ” rope a doping ” Arthur the game goes into overtime . Hollins made a big mistake not putting Zevo in for that last play .

That entire game was gold. I love this series. I want to see a game seven.
