Set your DVRs: The complete NBA playoff first round schedule

Apr 18, 2013, 2:56 AM EDT

Tim Duncan, Dwight Howard AP

It is time to get serious. Finally. No more guys sitting out with “injuries” that exist only so David Stern won’t fine teams for resting players. No more talk of real injuries that actually have wrecked some of the fun of the season. No more Derrick Rose talk… oh, I guess that doesn’t end. But at least now we can get on with games that mean something.

Let’s get on with some playoff basketball.

So you can set your DVRs — or put alerts in your Google calendar so you know to get to the bar and watch the game — here is the full schedule for the first round of the NBA playoffs. All times are Eastern. An “*” means if necessary.

ahhhhhhhhh playoff season. im looking forward to seeing a zbo-griffin series.

  2. bifford - Apr 18, 2013 at 7:44 AM

Brooklyn vs Chicago will be the hands down most boring series.

  3. ThaLiveKing - Apr 18, 2013 at 7:54 AM

    Reblogged this on TLK Sports.

  4. halfbaht - Apr 18, 2013 at 8:23 AM

Boston v NY will be a cracker. Can’t wait to see Melo cry when KG talks about his wife tasting like honey nut Cheerios again

Seriously, he could have at least said “Cap’n Crunch”. That would have been respectful.

Next Thursday, got the Heat game at 7; Got the NFL Draft at 8!

Holy Crap! They’re trying to get me divorced, aren’t they. I might be calling Miamatt on Friday needing a couch to crash on.

  6. scoocha - Apr 18, 2013 at 12:45 PM

Set the DVRs – not likely.

2 weeks per series (possibly) – that’s terribly long.

  7. mazblast - Apr 18, 2013 at 2:47 PM

Will Atlanta-Indiana get even 1% of the attention that will be paid to NY-Boston and (of course) Lakers (ooooooohhhhh!!)-San Antonio? Will the media hacks even acknowledge that OKC is a #1 seed? Will Milwaukee ever be mentioned by name?

  8. asublimeday - Apr 18, 2013 at 3:32 PM

Chicago – LA without two of the biggest stars in the game for the finals. David Stern is found hanging in his closet.

  9. shanelsweet - Apr 22, 2013 at 7:30 AM

Thanks, Kurt. I’ve returned to this page several times already. It’s a very handy reference. As for the games, I don’t expect most of these series to go more than 4 or 5 games. In the West, only Memphis/Clippers, and in the East, only Boston/NY could be longer series. The 2nd round is when we’ll start seeing some real ballin’ from the best of the best.
