Kenneth Faried is carried from the court after suffering ankle injury (VIDEO)

Apr 14, 2013, 9:00 PM EST

Less than three minutes into the Nuggets’ win over the Blazers on Sunday, another one of Denver’s starters had to be carried off the floor after suffering what appeared to be a serious injury.

As seen in the video clip above, Kenneth Faried rolled his ankle on an attempt to elevate towards the basket, thanks to stepping on the foot of Will Barton along the way. Faried remained down for several minutes, before he was carried off the floor by two of his teammates.

X-rays were negative, and the Nuggets said that Faried will be listed as day-to-day. An MRI is scheduled for Monday to further assess the extent of the damage.

The injury to Faried comes just 10 days after Danilo Gallinari suffered a season-ending torn ACL injury, and obviously couldn’t come at a worse time with the playoffs less than a week away.

Denver will in all likelihood finish with the three seed in the Western Conference playoffs, which will get them a first round date with either Houston or Golden State.

Faried has been the only member of the Nuggets to start all 80 games, and has averaged 11.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, a steal, an assist, and a blocked shot in 28.4 minutes per game this season.

Wow, bad time for the Nuggs to be piling up injuries.

Is it just me or does it seem teammates always take injured players off the court? (See Noel when his ACL tore) where are the paramedics?

Paramedics are typically on standby at most major sporting events, but are 2nd to team doctors and/or trainers.

I assume you were leaning towards why don’t they get wheel chair or stretcher or some sort rather than carry the guy back. Perhaps its just the player not wanting it. Maybe they are hoping it isn’t something serious.

But guys do get help, when Baron Davis blew out his knee, he was taken off via stretcher. Same goes with Danilo Gallinari just last week or so.

Wow it’s so scary seeing these freak injuries piling up so close to the playoffs. Just think if Melo ever got injured, we’d be done.

Denver without the Manimal’s hustle and energy won’t be the same.

Thank god it’s a low ankle sprain.

An ankle sprain and the “Manimal” couldn’t walk off on his own?
Kobe hit 2 Free throws and walked off with a torn tendon.

If that was your ankle you would have cried like baby. If you question the toughness of Faried I don’t think you know him or his story. You just like to troll.
