Blake Griffin was dunking all over Lakers Sunday (VIDEO)

Apr 8, 2013, 9:01 AM EST

Blake Griffin dunks on a lot of teams. Of course, it’s easy to say a lot of teams don’t have Dwight Howard protecting the rim and the Lakers shouldn’t allow this. The problem for the Lakers is their perimeter defense is so poor Howard is often trying to stop the guard driving in for a layup and the rotations to help him are often slow if they come at all. Whatever the reasons, we saw plenty of Griffin dunking on the Lakers Sunday.

The dunk above was a transition play for the Clippers where Griffin has the time in the air to change his mind and go from layup to dunk.

Below, that is a pick-and-roll with Chris Paul that illustrates the Lakers defensive woes. Paul comes off the pick and Pau Gasol does a good job switching and taking away his driving lane, forcing a midrange pull up over Gasol’s long arms that rims out. But that means Kobe Bryant is on Griffin and outside trying to draw a foul out high he doesn’t slow him at all. Howard does his job and has a body on his man While Steve Blake is in a no man’s land, not on his guy at the arc or taking away Griffin’s path. The result is a monster put back.

After LeBron James …Blake Griffin is the player fans around the world want to see next. No doubt about it . His finger roll to tomahawk slam was amazing .

Style points don’t count in the playoffs. The Clips were dunking all over my beloved LAKERS, this is true. But let’s see how “lob city” translates to the playoffs. My guess is it won’t. If the Clips face Memphis or Denver, which seems likely, “lob city” will get “dunked” right out of the post season after the 1st round. That divisional championship banner will look utterly ridiculous hanging up in the same arena with the 16 World Championship banners the LAKERS have hanging from the rafters. Please, Clips, listen to Blake…don’t do it!!

i think they will struggle as well in the playoffs…the Grizz or Nugs will give them a hard time.

well…Clip fans waited a very long time…i guess its about time they got their day in the sun…

Don’t be mad because your team sucks this year.

I feel terrible for Laker fans. Kobe’s legacy is tarnished with the way his career is ending playing with such terrible teams and not winning anything unless a man named Phillip tells him how to play. Clipper Nation…..Rise? No, Clipper Nation…..Arrived!!

    • dirtydavis - Apr 8, 2013 at 3:55 PM

Lame… I don’t know how Kobe’s Legacy is tarnished. The same can be said about T. Duncan. Duncan has never won a game/champioship without pop. Kobe’s Legacy : 5 Championships, 2 finals MVP, 1 MVP, All NBA team selections and ALL NBA Defensive selections,14+ all star appearances, top 5 in scoring all time, top 3 scoring all time (playoffs), most games starts( playoffs). We’re talking about Kobe here! Was MJs legacy tarnished when he cam back to play for the wizards? Was Kareem legacy tarnish for posting up mediocre during his last 2 years in the NBA? Kobe has more ALL NBA Selections than LBJ and D3 combined. in other words STFU. Whats the clipers records since all star break? So far what I heard is the D. Jordan is complaining about playing time and B. Griffin can’t handle CP3. Clipper nation rise??? Clipper nation should take a seat

Kobe’s legacy is secure whether he wins another title or not. Top five scorer in NBA history and five titles. He’s accomplished more in his career than the entire Clipper roster, dolt.

Aww, isn’t that cute?! Lakerslurper reduced to trying to pick apart a playoff team.

Relax Clippers fans, once the lakers fail to make the playoffs, Lakerslurper willvbe gone.
He made a foolish bet with me that the lakers would make it past the second round of the playoffs, that isn’t happening.

Make sure he knows his days are numbered and if he doesn’t honor the bet, make his time on pbt a living hell.

You are a detestable human being and a sad excuse for a man lakerslurper.

Lets be real, if LeBron had been on two teams with 3 additional HOFers and not won titles he’s be getting obliterated by the media. Kobe will now have done it twice in his career. Just a thought…
