LeBron James destroys Jason Terry with the alley-oop dunk (VIDEO)

Mar 18, 2013, 9:31 PM EDT

When LeBron James is streaking down the lane on a break opportunity, and there’s only one defender back who finds himself on the wrong end of a three-on-one situation, the best thing to do is to just get out of the way.

Jason Terry had a momentary lapse in judgment, however, and was absolutely demolished by James, who stared down his victim a little too long after the play, and drew a technical foul for taunting from the officials.

Totally worth it.

  2. boston444 - Mar 18, 2013 at 9:49 PM

Lapse in judgement? You’re right. Who in their right mind tries to play defense anymore? Terry did the right thing, he just didn’t get the result he wanted

    • brutl - Mar 18, 2013 at 11:38 PM

Yes, it was a lapse in judgement and the result says it all.

    • krabdribble - Mar 19, 2013 at 12:37 AM

Coaches will tell you, that’s a let-go situation rather than give the and-1. Besides, you don’t stand in front of a train and hope to slow it down with your bare body.

  6. jimmymarlinsfan - Mar 18, 2013 at 10:16 PM

The only reason they called a technical on Lebron was hurt feelings. Honestly, who throws a shoe?

  7. lakerluver - Mar 18, 2013 at 10:22 PM

Yeah…and at this very moment Jeff Green is destroying LeBron!!

Good ole lakerluver with his typical playa hata BS, how dem Lakers looking right about now numbnuts? lmao, let’s see Lebron gets the win with the clutch jumper to finish with 37, 12 & 7 & Jeff Green destroys him yes Mr NoBasketballKnowledge whatsoever? Nah bruh! Destroying someone is when you crush them like Jordan used to do John Starks scoring 54 against his Knicks AND the win leaving Starks with maybe 12 points & going to da house with his tail between his legs but you don’t destroy someone just because you have a great game IN A LOSS & Lebron crushing your team in YOUR house winning with the clutch jumper AS the defending champs to keep ur streak at 23 baby! Actually learn something about the game & stop spouting your pathetic pitiful annoying arrogant Laker BS fatboy! Hahahahaha, DA STREAK at 23 baby! Lebron OWNS tonight!

    • fanofevilempire - Mar 19, 2013 at 10:15 AM

Dude, I saw LBJ shut him down to end the game and LBJ hit some jumpers against him.

105-103 Heat. What, you thought you won in the 3rd quarter?

    • jm9ulose - Mar 18, 2013 at 10:58 PM

You’re right…watch the dunk, place ur head in ur hands, look at the final score, then shed a tear. 23…just another victim

  9. DonRSD - Mar 18, 2013 at 10:57 PM

    LETS GO HEAT!!!

  10. kinggw - Mar 18, 2013 at 11:03 PM

Jordan (Deandre) now has some competition for dunk of the year. I think LBJ’s dunk was more impressive, but im clearly biased.

  11. divan22 - Mar 18, 2013 at 11:11 PM

One of the best dunks of the year followed immediately by the worst technical foul call of the year.

    • michaeljordanseviltwin - Mar 19, 2013 at 10:26 AM

The technical foul call makes it worse for Terry. Not only did he get brutalized but the refs felt bad enough for him that they he to punish the bully… which only allows more time to rehash what just happened to him.

  12. 1972wasalongtimeago - Mar 18, 2013 at 11:15 PM

    Weis, Mozgov’, Knight, Perkins, Terry

    Welcome to the club, Jet

    • bucrightoff - Mar 18, 2013 at 11:47 PM

Mozgov doesn’t count, everyone gets him.

  13. bengzki - Mar 18, 2013 at 11:17 PM

Malfunctioned Jet, stay grounded and stop talking haha!
Regards to Jeff Green on this game, He’s one of the future of this franchise.

But mostly must admit, the Heat are just executing well when it matters most.
    Appreciate rather than hate.

He remembered that ring she should’ve got from him back in ’11 lol I wish he’d do this more often. he’s been ruthless at the rim the last two games.

  16. WatchThis - Mar 18, 2013 at 11:21 PM

How many more will have to become Lebron’s sons?

That was so damaging that the refs own fear at that moment instinctively had them blowing whistles for taunting. Lebron is SO monstrous that the officials were taken aback with fear and in their own recoil had to call something with the fear instinct firing.

    • divan22 - Mar 19, 2013 at 12:16 AM

You’re 100% right and I find that hilarious. That truly is the only plausible explanation for that T.

And how about LeBron’s reaction to it? He’s usually quick to complain to refs anytime he feels he’s been wronged, but he didn’t even flinch!

It was like he was thinking, “Yeah, I know, refs. I understand. I’d be blown away too if I were you.”

      • WatchThis - Mar 19, 2013 at 10:46 AM

It was as if the mere aura of Lebron was called for taunting, and the entire NBA had to step back and be afraid. The refs shrunk back, testicles pulled inside of their bodies, blowing whistles. Not sure what was happening or what they were calling. Fearful for basketball. Afraid that a man might be allowed to do that to another man on their watch. Not sure what was done. Owning another man is wrong. They were blowing whistles for owning, for making another grown man someone’s son in plain view of the world.

If anything, it’s even more of a testament to Lebron’s domination, that in his strongest moment, mere mortals step back afraid of what he can do, and we do not understand it, do not know what to do with it, are not sure it can go uncontained without rules.

“LeBron James consumes Jason Terry with Alley Oop Dunk”

    Fixed.

The basketball equivalent of Darth Vader’s force choke.

  19. jagsallday - Mar 19, 2013 at 12:30 AM

Karma. LeBron got his pay back on Jason Terry for the finals
    they lost against the Mavericks.

  20. jebdamone - Mar 19, 2013 at 12:41 AM

that dunk was absolutely absurd. the power, the force, the speed. initially it looked to me like lebron might have been standing over terry to make sure he was still alive! im not even a heat fan but that guy just blows my mind every time i watch him.

  21. dko83 - Mar 19, 2013 at 2:26 AM

Looking forward to these boards when the Heat don’t win a championship b/c you Heat fans are more obnoxious than Laker fans. And that’s saying something…

    • pantsfreezone - Mar 19, 2013 at 2:53 AM

      Hey. Hey, buddy. Psst.

Cry more because we feed on your tears. Heat love since ’88 baby.

  22. norcal031 - Mar 19, 2013 at 4:00 AM

Better than SheAndre Jordan’s dunk over the ill pg………

    • paleihe - Mar 19, 2013 at 11:11 AM

Really? SheAndre? Changing his name makes you look extremely childish. Grow up.

And, Terry is a huge power forward. He’s a tiny two guard.
