As a PG aka the LEADER, you need to do a bit more than show up fat and play horribly. The question you should be asking is “how bad did he play to deserve the boos”.
I bet you never even saw one game the Blazers played last year with Felton running the point to say such a “silly” comment

But mainly, reports, true or not, said that he and Jamal Crawford started a mutiny in the locker-room which led to the firing of Nate McMillan and several other front office guys along with an almost complete dismantling of the team. He, fairly or not, took most of the blame for why a pieced together team that looked pretty good on paper, failed. Portland fans are pretty hardcore and after the unfortunate end of the Roy, LA, Oden era an embarrassment of a season needed someone to blame. Its not entirely fair for Felton, but his response to the media(“Maybe they won’t, until I’m coming in on the other end and droppin’ 50 on ‘em”) didnt help his case in the fans eyes. I dont personally blame him but it was quite funny and kind of satisfying to see him airball his first 3. In the end Ill take Lillard over him anyday.
