Rockets, Clippers, Lakers, Portland, OKC, Atlanta (twice), Bulls, Memphis, Knicks, Pacers… The others against “scrubs” yes but don’t act like they played the Bobcats 20 straight times.

I find it ironic that the guy that runs the Heat is a Laker legend with rings as a player and coach. But then again no Heat fan (at least on here) ever gives the Lakers anything but disrespect.

Sooner or later Miami will play a decent team. Watch out for the Spurs in a couple of weeks. (who by the way have the league’s last 20 game streak) The Spurs almost beat them in Miami without 4 of their top 6 players.

It’s a little easier to have that kind of streak when most of their games are against the scrubs of the league (i.e. the eastern conference).

As the very first sentence of this blog-post pointed out…it’s only the fourth time in NBA history that a team has won 20+ consecutive games in a single season.

When a team accomplishes a feat that only 3 other teams in the past 50+ years have accomplished, it is unique.

So the “blogs and television” are correct in pointing out that it is historic.

What’s crazy about this Heat streak is that it’s not unique. They would need to break the 22 to 33 games in order to make NBA history. But in today’s media with blogs and television we act or pretend as if what the Heat are doing is unheard of.

Actually, I don’t think he was joking…many are picking the Bucks to break the streak.

I was just taken aback that this Bucks team would actually be allowed to be mentioned in the same breath, if you will, to that legendary team.

As an aside, I remember the incredible Lakers / Bucks conference final…two giants in Chamberlain and Abdul-Jabbar going at each other, with the defending champs trying to oust that record-breaking team (besides the 33-game win streak, other records set at the time, and since broken, included best season record, 69-13, best home record, highest winning percentage (breaking 76ers in 1967 at 68-13), largest margin of victory, 63 points (beating Golden State 162-99)).

Even so, Milwaukee blew the Lakers out twice in that series, once by 21 points, another time by 26 points. The Lakers’ margins of victory in their four wins? 1, 3, 4, and one blowout, 25.

The Lakers earned that title.

This Heat team is insane. They aren’t even trying to break the streak record man I don’t even know if the team knows they’ve won 20 on a row! They’re just playing incredibly consistent ball at a pace nobody can keep up with. I’m gonna be telling my kids about this Heat team!

Where do the Heat play next? Milwaukee on Friday. Just sayin’.

Yeah, comparing today’s Milwaukee Bucks with the 1971 Milwaukee Bucks, one of the greatest and most dominant teams ever, makes all the sense in the world.
