No, they’re eleven games over, and that probably overstates how good they are since their point differential is less than one per game. In the East, Miami’s parsecs ahead of everybody else, then the Pacers, then a five-team scrum (since you can’t expect the Knicks to be fully healthy). You can argue the Nets are the best of those five teams, but it’s a nominal difference at most. If PJ actually figures out how to use the talent on his roster, though, they could nab the three-seed, have a puncher’s chance of beating Indiana and reach their stated goal of making the conference finals before getting mopped by the Heat.

I’m not convinced he’s that much better of a rebounder. Hump still has one of the best rebounding rates in the league, and there’s diminishing marginal returns to extreme rebounders since they steal some from their teammates.

Reggie’s a little more active defensively, but I don’t think he’s particularly good there.
