Exactly. Last year is over. Knicks have the most depth in the NBA and aren’t the same team from last year. Nuggets have the second most depth. We’ll hear excuses galore WHENEVER the Heat lose, for some reason.

("whenever" the Heat lose turned out to be a precient quote)

I love it. Let everyone continue thinking that last year means anything. Completely different team with implementations on both sides of the ball after a full camp. Knicks are not a fluke. Stop trying to hand the division to Boston and the conference and NBA title to Miami.

Mr. Wright 212 - Nov 5, 2012 at 11:17 PM
Knicks have the best defense in the league.
Now getting scoring from a half dozen guys also… BEFORE Stoudemire comes back? I’ll take it. Keep trying to hand things to Boston and Miami…

         Best defense?
teamrankings.com has the Knicks at 17th. Don't know much about
teamrankings.com. Don't know how they came up with their ranking. But they're the
first website that comes up (above espn.com) when you look this stuff up, so even if
17th is off, it's probably not off by much

Go back and read the comments after the Knicks beat the Heat in the 2nd game of the seaon and I'll bet you'll say otherwise. Knicks fans expected that the 3 point shooting percentages would stay that high all year. They expected a team that counted on some very old players and Amare's knee would still be strong come end of the season. And they may have underestimated the main competition a tad. Expectations were most defnitely not proper.

Knicks are good. Non-Knicks fans felt all along that they were good enough to be a 2-3-4 seed in the East. Good enough to win a playoff round. If you knew before the season that the Knicks would win a playoff series and put up a good fight in round 2, you'd have to say that would have been a good season, and that's exactly what they are on pace to do. Knicks fans didn't think that way.

It's proper for Thunder, Clippers, Spurs, and Heat fans to have championsip expectations. Maybe the Nuggets and Memphis, but the West is likely too tough. In 3 of those 4 cities, fans can be legitimately disappointed if they don't win the championship, or at least go to the Finals. New York fans should only be disappointed if they lose in the first round.

Expectations were proper, given that we played without key starters. Just because you don't like it that the Knicks are good and their fans are excited doesn't mean anyone's expectations were out of control. Matching up with Miami with a chance to go to the Finals was accurate, with a healthy team. We simply do not have that now.

Hate to tell you buddy but, none of the ex-Nuggets you mentioned above move without the ball. Did you New Yorkers believe that they would start playing better because their home court is MSG?

It's not over, but I don't see a deep playoff run happening, either. I guess we'll see what happens in the next few weeks, but they are in the East, so they have that going for them.

Our season is over. We just don't know it yet. Losing Stoudemire, our only viable post threat makes this a high school offense. All they do is stand on the perimeter, don't cut, don't move without the ball, no one but Felton penetrates, and if Melo is off (or hurt), it falls to Felton and JR, who are both as erratic as they come when it comes to shooting. Melo will be out for 2-3 weeks (although MSG will stick to their typical BS "day to day" nonsense) and thankfully that JACKAL Brewer didn't tear a ligament in Chandler's knee with that foolishness, but this is going to be ugly down the stretch if we can't get Wallace and Stoudemire back with a healthy Anthony. I'm already saying it now.
