I’ve always looks at them as more of a talented assembly of players rather than a true team built to be a contender.

The Johnson, Horford, Smith teams of a few years ago were always impressive athletically, but the team’s ceiling gets capped when two of the three top players are best when playing the same position.

Anything is possible. I think that record is more likely to be broken–if not by these Heat–then by someone eventually, before you’ll see the 72-win season record eclipsed.

Then again, that team’s longest streak was 18, so who knows?
