But the Bulls may be in the the best position (reported to be most profitable team in the last 10 years) to maintain their players. Mr Reinsdorf is notoriously tight fisted with his money, that is probably why he has so much of it. Cheers

A core probem for the NBA. Heat, Thunder, and Spurs and then everyone else incluidng the Bulls, with or without Rose, playing for draft positions or salary cap space. the college game this year will be so much more interesting because the script is not already 90% pre-written.

I don’t understand why the Bulls need to be more open about this. The leak about his medical clearance alone caused a whirlwind of rumors and conspiracy theories by people who know nothing about the situation. Why would they release more info? There is no benefit to them, or rose, to be more transparent about the process.

I don’t know if its as much that he has injured his hamstrings, just that he appears to be (my guess at least) compensating somehow and that’s putting increased strain on them. I’m guessing that this is a big part of why he’s not back yet, he still doesn’t trust his body 100% yet and this is proof. Medical clearance is one thing, but trusting his knee is an entirely different ballpark.

Part of the problem is Jeff Van Gundy’s monday morning quarterbacking that he was doing for half the game yesterday. He made some valid points about Asik, but he left some things out. Signing a guy for 25 million to be your backup defensive stopper (lets remember, he hadn’t even been able to catch a basketball until this year; he provided no offense to an offensive starved team) would have given the Bulls zero financial flexibility until 2017 or so. They basically had to pick between him and Gibson. The Bulls had to choose between financial flexibilty going forward and banking on the current roster (Asik included) being able to win a title. They chose the former. It’s not as simple as, ‘oh they’re just being cheap again.’ It’s not like the Bulls are the only team not willing to pay the tax. In reality, the Lakers, Knicks and Nets are the only teams willing to pay the tax going forward.

Please. This is a team that was on pace for 55 wins before the other half of their team got hurt. That’s 55 wins still without their best player. The only thing they haven’t replaced from last year is Asik’s depth. Bellinelli isn’t quite as good a 3 point shooter as Korver, but every other part of his game is better. Jimmy Butler is just as good a defender as Brewer was, plus he can actually make shots. CJ Watson was horrible in the playoffs last year, and the reason they lost game 6. If you want to say the current roster isn’t a contender, that’s fine, but you can’t say last year they were then.

For the last 2 weeks, they’ve been playing with their 3rd and 4th line point guard, their backup 2 guard, and no sixth man. That’s playing without 4 of their top 7 players. That isn’t management’s fault. What would OKC look like without Westbrook, Sefalosha, Martin and Collison? We saw what the Clippers looked like without Paul, add in Bledsoe, Crawford and Odom to that. Name me a team that’s going to win 50 games missing more than half of their top 7.

In all honesty, he should maybe come back for the last 8-10 games for conditioning purposes, get reacclimatized to playing in real games. But other than that, this team isn’t gonna win anything this year anyway so why rush back to a team where Rip Hamilton is always hurt, Kirk Hinrich is always hurt and Nazr Mohammed is just plain old. You can’t compete with Indiana, The C’s, or Miami with this current roster. His brother was correct in slamming management for not building a contender. Had they kept last years roster minus John Lucas III, or Cj Watson (Nate Robinson is a better fit) he would have something to come back to, but not now. So basically, take your time D Rose.

Hamstring issues usually take a couple of weeks to resolve because they’re very easy to aggravate, so the key is patience.

Given that the playoffs start in 5 weeks, this does seriously hurt his chances of making an appearance this season.
