Hey dalucks, you’re not even a Rockets fan so don’t add your two cents. Just stop commenting on Houston teams in general. Anyways, you can argue that Morey has never lost a trade during his tenure. It’s remarkable that he’s kept this team at .500 with spare parts and without top ten picks. Most of the vitriol towards Morey in Houston is based on this idea he’s racist (Favoring Parsons over Morris last season , D-Mo starting at the 4, hiring McHale). Don’t believe me? Please check out the comments on Rockets articles in the Houston Chronicle. They refer to fans such as myself as “Moreyons”.

He rebuilt a team that lost two all time great talents without a top 10 draft pick.

Morey rebuilt a team without tanking, how many other active GMs have been able to do this? Very hard to do so the extension is deserved.

sorry, had to add amnestying a perfectly healthy and fairly productive player scola. getting thomas robinson. and theyll have lots of cap space to add more great talent. awesome job.

great/quick job by morey. people second guessed the signings of lin and asik, letting go of lowry, dragic, but it all worked out and the trade for harden was a genius move. next task for him? grow a beard like hardens to hide that nasty double chin =))

That is a little premature. The length of the extension is bad considering that the only thing he has proven is that he can spend money but not necessarily maintain a sucessful team over an extended period of time.
I guess Morey cashed in like Asik and Lin on a small sample size.

More impressive than their performance this year – a probable playoff team despite being one of the youngest in the NBA – is how well they’re set up for the future.

They have room to add another max contract to pair with James Harden, who is a legit All-Star. Asik and Lin were high-risk signings that appear to be working out.
Morey also saw a sinking ship in Sacramento and managed to pull off a low-cost trade for a former lottery draft pick (Thomas Robinson) who has high upside.

I’m not a Rockets fan, but I’m very impressed with what they’ve done the past year, and they’re definitely a team to watch next year.
