Serge Ibaka blocks Dwight Howard’s dunk (VIDEO)

Mar 6, 2013, 8:44 AM EDT

That is how you protect the rim.

There aren’t many guys in the league who would even try to block a Dwight Howard dunk, let alone pull it off, but Serge Ibaka did Tuesday night (and got Earl Clark‘s follow up, too).

The Thunder beat the Lakers and I don’t know that there is some great takeaway from the game we didn’t already know — the Lakers are improved but the Thunder are still better — however we were treated to some spectacular plays and this was at the top of the list.

That was not an attempted dunk. It was one of those ugly thrown in shots that Howard and Griffin like to do.

What a beast! Must be nice having an absolute animal defending the paint. I get the great joy of watching Spencer Hawes night in and night out – guy has never met a weight room he’s liked!

Howard was distracted because he couldn’t see Ibaka’s other hand and was in fear of his nuts….
