Barea was the only Twolf with a positive +/- (+1). Before the foul the twolves were down 6, after the foul the heat scored 7 unanswered (3 of those points were on technical free throws), finishing the game on a 21-11 run. The ref’s made a bad call. You aren’t even close to right on any account.

is this the league admitting barea was right, that the blow wasn’t as big as ray allen’s reaction made it out to be? if this was a mark cuban-lakers thing, would the article have included a he won-he lost aspect? but since it’s the popular winning heat team right now that the media love, they avoid the aspect of ray’s overreaction and avoid putting a barea wins aspect in the article?

You’re kidding right? Did not hurt the Heat, hurt the Wolves because it immediately went from a 6 point game to a 13 point game because of a joke of a call. Ray Allen pushed off, should have been an offensive foul, even if Barea flopped a little. However, Ray Allen flopped big time after Barea gave him a little chest bump. If Ray is that weak he should just retire right now for being a big baby.

I rarely watch the NBA and the Miami heat and the refs are why. The flipper there was Allen but because he’s day Allen it’s called in JJ. The Nba is a joke

Barea’s getting tossed only HURT the Heat. It didn’t help. Barea was shooting 9% from the field (1for11). He was KILLING the T-Wolves. Refs did their best to keep the game close by doing what Adelman didnt have the guts to do which was to send that guy to the showers early.

Next time the Heat play the Wolves the Wolves should be forced to leave Barea IN the game no matter what.. It’s only fair.

And no, NBA. The downgrade today does NOT make it alright with Heat fans.

let’s be honest, it was a counter flop. Barea is the best flopper in the league not playing for the Clippers. Doesn’t seem physically possible for Barea’s tiny self to throw Ray Allen around like that ; the look in his eyes almost said “oh what you want me to be like you?”

Heat fan here, no problem with the downgrade upon further review. Barea most definitely threw his chest into Allen with absolutely no intent to make a basketball play, but it wasn’t particullarly vicious.

And as far as Ray Allen’s “elbow”, it was more a forearm push off than anything else. It could have been called an offensive foul, but it wasn’t. Barea’s flop to try and draw the foul was likely why he wasn’t given the call. In any case, looks like JJ’s Napolean Complex got the best of him on this one.

Last night, the flagrant foul rule ate itself whole. I know it’s been a gradual, ‘frog in the pot of boiling water’ kind of deal, but my god when did the league get to the point where minor body contact from a 5’10, 175 lb guard merits an ejection.

I know Stern’s current rules are all about image and public perception, and almost all of them are a result of the Artest melee but dear god, they need to step back and have a look at what is happening to the competitive nature of the game. Despite all opinions otherwise, basketball is indeed a physical sport.

Let’s get a grip here. To me, it’s a no-brainer that this was rescinded, but what if an ejection like this took place in the 4th quarter of a close game or a playoff game?

If Allen didn’t want to get body checked he shouldn’t have thrown an elbow. Good on the league. Nothing to see here.
