Calm down everyone. The key in this league is to stink. Not be good, not be average but outright stink. A rebirth is coming to those who are patient. No one will win other than the heat or thunder for next 4 years. Build and hopefully take advantage when that period is over. Quick question – can you still go over the cap to sign your own? If so, I say sixers sign josh smith and re-sign Bynum. Hope for best, if it doesn’t work, stink it up and build with future picks. Keep jrue, everyone else on 1 yr deals cut, trade turner and hawes for a pick.

WTF! We shoveled out 16 million to have this guy sit the bench all year. The worst part is team management cant just let him go in free agency because they wanna save face. How awful would that make you look if you let 2 young players go (1 being vucevic who is playing outstanding) for a guy who is doing nothing more than keeping a seat warm on the end of the bench.

Absolutely disgraceful and im downright embarrassed for this team and this management. We need a shake-up bc this was a horrible move. “Professionals” made this move

Is there a Laker fan that isn’t toally glad that the 76′ers were stupid enough to take on Andrew Bynum and his trashed knees? Thanks Philly for being stupid enough to take a chance on Bynum, looks like the Lakers got all that Bynum has to offer. Maybe if Bynum’s knees are too trashed to play basketball he can take up pro bowling. Ha Ha!!

Am I the only one puzzled that how can Bynum, who had his healthiest season as a pro while playing in the grueling 66 game season (and only missed one game due to an ankle sprain), misses the whole season due to….a bowling injury?

The problem is, his agent won't let him read a contract like that, let alone sign it. Bynum is seven feet tall, 25 years old, and has shown (in the past) that he can play ball. Every team with cap space is going to offer him a max deal. If the Sixers aren't one of those teams, that just means Bynum is playing (or sitting) someplace else next year.

At this point, the Sixers are doing what they always do….excel in looking clueless.

This franchise needs an overhaul from top to bottom, and that includes letting Bynum go. Sixers management have been playing scared with Bynum all year. He blows off a press conference…some excuse gets made. He makes stupid comments when he DOES show up, and more excuses.

If there was hope he could overcome the injuries and attitude, then maybe you work hard to kiss his ass and save face, but at this point they need to cut thier losses now and send him home. Not only has he been a distractiont to the team this year, but he has shown no intention of ever wanting nor caring to play for the Sixers.

This team nees to tank the next two years. Reload with some young players, get a new coach once Collins quits and his handpicked GM Delio is fired, and try and do this thing right.

I say lock him up. That way we don’t sign anyone else to actually help us get better. With Bynum and his lack of health and passion it can only help us be in the lottery every year. We need to be one of the worst teams in the league for the next 2-3 years. You got to figure at best he plays only half a year the rest of his career.If they let him walk and sign say a Al Jefferson, then we will be in that 7th/8th seed spot and never have any chance of becoming a legit contender. We need to suck bad for next years draft. The 2014 draft could have 2-4 franchise type players in it. We have tried to compete and build at the same time, and have failed miserably. It is time to suck and get lucky in the lottery. That is the way the NBA is set up. It is a dumb way to be but Stern and the NBA are set up that way.

2 year, 15 million dollar deal with the second year being a team option. I would be prepared to spend some money to see if he has anything left, but I’m leaving myself an option to cut bait after a year. Just in case.

The trade to get Bynum is a sunk cost. The Sixers can’t get those players back. You don’t want to keep making bigger and bigger mistakes just because you made one mistake already.

If his knees can’t hold up, it’s best to cut bait now and move on. Yes, losing Iggy sucks, but having a MAX salary player on your cap for five seasons when he can’t live up to that contract is a mistake the Sixers can still avoid.

When you dig yourself into a hole, the first step towards getting out of it has to be to stop digging.

They already made their decision by trading for him. Letting him walk as a FA now would make trading Iggy look even more foolish. They pretty much have to sign him, otherwise what was the point?
