Some people on these comments — maybe not you — say “thug” when they mean “black,” because those two words are synonymous to them.

Delonte West is not a “thug” in the true meaning of the word. He is someone who has had trouble controlling his mental illness, and may never control it. As a Boston fan, I’m still rooting for him. Delonte has real skills, real value, and if he could put together a few seasons without mental problems more people would see that.
