Even if they can’t trade him in the off-season, his contract is only partially guaranteed next season.

And Shannon? Saying there’s a lot you can say but you’re just going to be professional, isn’t too professional. Especially after you said a lot already. Bassy was truly professional about it. J.O. is being professional about being a veteran player on a bad team. You’re complaining….about what? The team was terrible when your trigger-happy ass was on the court. Collect your paycheck and be a professional about understanding the route the team is going for the rest of the year.

The Suns will likely drop Brown after the season to sign younger, less expensive players. They will explain this move by saying that they are in rebuilding mode. They will duplicate this kind of move and will use this excuse for the next several seasons.

Granted, by NBA standards, it’s not much…but goodness, that’s good pay.

He’s a competitive guy that wants PT. Can’t really fault him there. But, I know he got some decent run earlier in the season. Maybe he’s looking for a good answer as to why he’s not playing.

They went after Gordon, then Mayo, then traded for Wes Johnson, then brought him back at 7 million over 2. in NBA terms, thats a 7th or 8th man’s salary. That’s a throw in to balance the books on a trade for an actual player. That’s the artist formerly known as Derek Fisher money.

I guess what i’m trying to say is, when nobody wanted him, when what he did sign for is backup money, and where he signed was a team loaded at his position with youngsters who need playing time in a season the Suns gave up on before the All-Star break… what did he expect?

He should sign with the Bulls. An all Chicago back-court (I know he’s from Maywood but still its the Chicago area) to lead the Bulls to another championship. Another ball handler that can get his own shot alongside D. Rose when he returns. He’ll give more than Rip is giving that’s for sure.

Shannon Brown is sitting because he is just another shoot first 2 guard who wouldn’t even share the ball with Steve Nash when he was here (If Brown gets the inbound, Brown gets the shot). Last year he sat out in Free Agency with nobody interested in him until the Suns brought him up for spare change. Despite how much Laker fans love the guy for what amounts to a couple of decent youtube videos of dunks, he’s not a productive player and is not a starting caliber player.
