I think they want to avoid Indiana in the first round. They match up better with the Knicks/Brooklyn than Indy

In this scenario the serious effort would be on the side of the teams tanking for draft picks. NBA needs its playoff spots to keep teams honest.

you’re right. Cut the seeds to only 5 , the top seed gets a bye.THEN you get some serious effort in the last half of the season.

i think it’d be pretty tough for doc to leave. but i wonder if garnett would consider finding a better situation if his leader (rivers) leaves the team.

Just more proof that the NBA regular season is virtually meaningless. It’s too long, games are pointless, and there are too many teams.
