Depends what the Goal is....If you want to try and win a championship, you have to sign Bynum Longterm, maybe sit him out a year to get himself right..He is the only championship caliber player that the sixers have a shot at getting....If they just want to be better, being happy with the 4th seed, then they dont re-sign Bynum and they go get some smaller pieces, maybe a Pekovic.... But wtf is the point in getting better, but not having a championship ceiling? I would rather take the chance on Bynum, sign him to a 5 year deal, and pray that he gives you atleast 3 strong years. Bynum is the only hope of ever building a championship team. If they let Bynum go, and sign some good but not great players, they wont realistically have a shot at the nba title in the next 5 yeARS ANYWAY. Might as well roll the dice and sign him for 5 years....If he doesnt work out, we will be better, but stuck in quicksand anyway.

I want to legit compete for a championship sooner or later. Bynum is the only FA with even a remote possability of that happening with. I watched Iggy, play under a max deal for YEARS! I would rather pay Bynum that kind of money to only play a 3rd of every season...than Pay Iggy that kind of money to play an entire year. How the hell did we manage to give bruce bowen a max deal? lol

"Give him max for a year" is my initial thought, not believing anyone else would do him much better. But I don't think there's any great answer here. Philly is in a lose-lose situation until they aren't.

If the sixers sign Bynum that would be a death wish.. The Lakers had enough talent to get by when he was hurt for him to come back and be impactful.. The Sixers have 1 very good player, maybe two good players and the rest are roster wasters.. Wait til after they resign Bynum, he gets hurt again, and the attendance goes from 7k to about 2-3k

if you want to keep him, you give him max or close to. Its hard to swallow but if they don't you can bet someone else (hello Daryl Morey) will. Put him on the floor with Jrue and Evan and you have something. Maybe make a play for a nice stretch 4 in FA and either stay with Nick Young or take a stab at Tyreke. That could be a championship team

can they put in an opt oit clause after next year like football or only after a certian number of years ... 3 then team option like most contracts. i think healthy and motivated, hes the best center in the game. big thing is if he can actually achieve both of those. i think hell be better as a centerpiece and not playing second fiddle to kobe but who knows if thats enough. i understand why the lakers went for howard who actually is more motivated/hsalthy but doesnt seem like that now. god dam divas. hopefully we can see him this year. i think a jrue/bynum tandem is gonna be fun.
