Oklahoma City has traded reserve guard Eric Maynor to the Portland Trail Blazers, according to a report from Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com, since confirmed by others.

The Thunder will receive a $2.2 million trade exception for their trouble, along with the draft rights to Giorgio Printezis, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

There isn’t much to this one, especially on the Oklahoma City side. Maynor was out almost the entire 2011-12 season after suffering an ACL injury, and has struggled to find his way back into the team’s rotation this year.

Maynor is averaging 2.8 points and 2.0 assists in just 10.6 minutes per game this season, and hasn’t appeared at all in Oklahoma City’s last three games.

The Blazers hope Maynor can be among those finding some minutes backing up rookie point guard Damian Lillard, who averages 38.5 minutes per game himself on the season.

That’s a shame he got hurt. He was really promising. His injury indirectly ruined the thunder’s chances against the Heat last year. If he hadn’t got hurt, they wouldn’t have signed Derek Fisher’s corpse. Why Scott Brooks played Fisher and Perkins all those minutes vs the heat is one of the most unexplainable, bizarre things in human history. If anyone knows the answer, please let me know.

Probably a lame reason like “Championship-experience”?

Yeah I know. I was honestly wondering why Sam Presti or someone didn’t call Brooks after game 3 and ask him what the hell he was doing. I guess Brooks has complete power and doesn’t have to answer to anyone when it comes to playing time.

Maybe they were trying to use Fisher as a shock factor with news of that Miami zombie.

Now the thunder has only one real PG in their roster, and he is the young and inexperienced Reggie Jackson. They should now hope that Westbrook learns how to run the team like a true PG

Love this trade for Portland. They need all the help they can get coming off the bench and Maynor has huge upside.

Hmm report says they waived Ronnie Price to make room. I probably would have waived Pavlovic or Nolan Smith(might still have potential but not with the Blazers) first but hopefully Maynor will be better than all of them. Giorgio who?

Reports are the trade was just the exception for Maynor. No Greeks involved.
